• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What just happened? Two weeks old: Engine shut down, VSS Error.

They’ve looked at it and found nothing. It’s intermittent… if they can’t replicate the problem (they can’t) then how can they fix it?? No possibility of voiding the warranty. Nothing is modified from stock. It’s no different than adding a lead on to the battery for gps or battery charging.

What just happened? Two weeks old: Engine shut down, VSS Error.

I've mentioned this in another thread a while back, this is an update after a second occurrence. The almost identical set of circumstances were at play both times: Slowing to a stop behind other traffic. At some point I take my hand off the throttle and when reaching back for the bars slightly...

What just happened? Two weeks old: Engine shut down, VSS Error.

A visit to dealer came up with the unsurprising conclusion of no one knowing what happened. The Spyder has been running just fine for the last two days, that’s all that really matters. Hopefully it was just a one off. In a previous life I was a heavy equipment operator. Doing a power off reset...

First ride after adding seat gel hoping for more comfort, but nope, no change! What to do? Anybody made theirs better?

Well troop, I’ve decided to go with the Russell. I’ve been very happy with the previous two I had so why not? By the luck of the draw I managed to get a ride-in appointment for June 19th. I’ve had Sunbrella and graphite vinyl on my other seats and was happy with both. I’m undecided which way...

What just happened? Two weeks old: Engine shut down, VSS Error.

I checked my battery and yes, it is the el cheapo unit as listed above. The Spyder did start right away though and didn’t throw any codes. I did check for any that were stored and found: ‘Lost Connection With Cluster’. I had a spare battery terminal nut and bolt handy so went ahead and installed...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Well, my Spyder is new so here's my list of recent additions: 1) I tried a 22" Freedom Shield from Lamonster... Too wide and not enough ventilation holes. A Freedom Shield was a game changer on my Harley, not so much on the Spyder. I cut down my stock W/S 4". Just right for my 5' 8.5" x 30"...

First ride after adding seat gel hoping for more comfort, but nope, no change! What to do? Anybody made theirs better?

The ride-in appointment (RDL or Corbin) is a great excuse for a good road trip! Thanks troop. The RDL does pair well with the stock rear and thanks for the info on the strut! I used to own an AirHawk and was not pleased in the least. Yes, it was inflated (deflated;)) correctly. The issue being...

I agree 100% Sarah! BMW is the same. They wanted to charge me ~ $400.00 CDN for a new battery that "would be covered under warranty". I bought a Yuasa with far better specs for just over 1/4 of the price.

Thanks for backing up my suspicions. I'll be at the dealer in time for opening on Tuesday morning.

What just happened? Two weeks old: Engine shut down, VSS Error.

Out and about on a slow Sunday morning having a look around Stanley Park when the engine just died and a VSS Error showed on the screen. I turned the key off and the VSS cleared as the screen shut down. Turned the ignition back on and the dash lit instantly to the gauge screen showing 2nd...

I'm even more of a Spyder fan than I was before

I first test rode an RS way back when in 2007 or 2008. I tested them several other times over the years and have been a secret admirer ever since... but of course, being true to my motorcycle roots, I just knew that there's no way I could ever really be happy on three wheels. I just sold my BMW...

First ride after adding seat gel hoping for more comfort, but nope, no change! What to do? Anybody made theirs better?

As a new owner of a new '24 RTL I'm a bit conflicted on the seat. As for long distance comfort (regular riding is at least 8 hours and longer per day) it's too soft for my liking but a Bead Rider makes it tolerable. My biggest issue is the feeling of sitting on a marshmallow in spirited riding...
