• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any way to prevent the windshield from automatically lowering on shut down?

The answer is yes. And no. I'm afraid you won't be able to easily achieve your goal. If you turn the bike off while holding the window switch, you can prevent the windshield from retracting. This will allow you to clean the windshield, or otherwise do any maintenance. Unfortunately, for...

What brand/sizes of luggage fit 2020-2023 Spyder OEM luggage rack?

I use this. I think it's the same one you're looking at: https://www.motosport.com/nelsonrigg-route-one-traveler-tour-trunk-rack-bag?variant It's pretty big. Once you set the straps correctly, it fits quite nicely on the OEM Luggage Rack. The straps open and close with clips, so you don't...

Anybody Know what this pin plug might be for?

Yes, it looks like an audio input of some kind. Maybe it's for the GPS. Later models of the RT eliminated the hard wired connection of the GPS.

Garmin 550 not recognized by Garmin Express, but does charge - any ideas?

I'm assuming you have the latest version of Garmin Express (they seem to change it each week). If not, try an updated version.

Found a Spyder I like - Opinions please?

I'm sorry to disabuse you of your fantasy. I can say with authority, if you buy a Spyder, you won't be alone for long.

Thinking outside the box - will parts swap from 2014-18 to 2020+?

I don't think any of the body parts are exchangeable. I agree with you about the turn signal on the mirrors. You can get BRP mirrors for the Australian version of the RT that have the turn signals in them. This will cost somewhere around $500 for the parts. That's very easily accomplished...

Can anyone explain what aftermarket end links actually DO?

I don't think you gain any real performance improvements by replacing the OEM end links with metal ones. You DO, however, gain peace of mind. The plastic links have been known to break. The metal ones are far more reliable. Incidentally, BajaRon IMHO sells the best links. I have no association...

Any decent Dealer/Factory Service in Connecticut?.

Wow, this is an OLD thread. Land N Sea in Waterbury is pretty good. The Indian dealership in Brookfield just picked up the line, but they are not quite ready to service Spyders. I'll probably give them a try sometime during the summer. There is also Colonial Motorsports in Milford CT.

Trunk Lid Dropping - any adjustment or fix?

I did this fix. It adds a helper spring to the strut for about $5. https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?93412-Gas-strut-for-trunk-on-the-RT&p=1645384&viewfull=1#post1645384

Check out the New Garmin Zumo XT2

I have a Zumo XT and was curious about the new XT2. There are some new features and a bigger screen. It looks like the cable is a new design also. I'm not sure if the cradle is the same as the XT. To be sure, the Zumo XT2 is a nice unit. If you don't have a GPS and want one, or if you've made...

What's the extra Switch on the 2020 RT Limited for?

Just an update, I think I've published this before. I replaced the blank switch with a an additional OEM windshield switch that I've wired up to a garage door opener. This spring, I also rearranged the switches into a more pleasing view, with both of the switches that control the heating gear...

What have you done for Heated Gear Wiring, inc Location - '20+ RT's?

I have a battery tender (SAE) connector and two barrel connectors for heated gear connected directly to the battery. The SAE tender connection ends in the frunk. One of the great mysteries of life. The Battery hold down bracket?!

Yes, these Spyders are VERY sensitive to the battery voltage. If it's a new battery, try tightening the connections and see if that helps (DAMHIKT). And in any event, if you've changed out the battery, again, make sure the connections are tight. You should add a spring washer to prevent...

One of the great mysteries of life. The Battery hold down bracket?!

Yes, you speak one of the great truths in life, death, taxes, and the Spyder battery hold down bracket. As described, there are two slots in a steel member behind the battery that will accept the mounting plate. The problem is, you can't access those slots with the battery in place, Here's...
