• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Here's Number 1 on my Christmas Wish List...

I rode dirt bikes for years and following some guy using that 2stroke oil is enough to make you high only after a mile or two. nojoke:mad::banghead::barf:

Having difficulties properly Filling the gas tank!

Yep, this is an old thread and as Yogi would say, you just gotta be smarter than the average bear. If you haven't figured it out by now you never will. You'll always be leaving the station with 1+ gallon short of a full tank. But beer stops & P stops are all less than a non-topped off tank...

Will Can Am Spyder/Ryker prices rise?

Unless there is a MASSIVE consumer cutback on spending, which many reasons can cause, prices will never go down.

    Test Drove A Goldwing Trike

HD Try Glide is the same way. It's like driving a truck compared to a spyder. Sorry HD riders but it is what it is.

Planning a Pacific Coast Highway trip - looking for suggestions

That's about 250 miles a day. It should be doable with good planning. Have fun..............

Please tell me what Battery Heated vests you recommend?

Yes, I have all my extra wiring running through that stuff. One of the best investments I made was Baker Air Wings. I can't even begin to tell you what a difference they made in the comfort aspect of riding my spyder. Not so much in the summer heat but a HUGE difference in the fall and winter...

    Can-Am dealers not hungry?

Don't forget about purchasing from a private party. There are many good deals on late model spyders if you search for them. Of course, it's currently wintertime but if I had to do it over again I'd find a good deal on 2nd hand spyder, fly there, buy it, and ride it home. Also, you can have it...

Please tell me what Battery Heated vests you recommend?

Whatever brand you select, get the type that works off the spyder's battery, not a stand alone battery. Run your heated gear directly off your spyder's battery with a fusible lead and a larger gauge wire than what BRP uses for their instruments. Also, I'd recommend skipping the vest style and...

Is it OK to lift a 2017 RT at the receiver hitch?

Yes, back up onto the front ramps and ratchet strap at least one of the front tires to the ramp so your spyder won't accidentally move. I use a small floor jack with a short piece of 2x6 under the rear shock and swingarm to raise the rear tire to a level position. Gold plugs are a good...

    What happened to the hippies?

Being part of that generation I was curious about their lifestyle and beliefs. It didn't take me long to reject their way of living and ideologies and thankfully I drifted into a more conservative lifestyle. In my later years, I've found many of my acquaintances have passed on earlier than I...

Bummed out waiting for a part

Currently, I own and ride a 14 RT SE6 because I've developed a certain physical limitation that prevents me from safely riding a 2-wheel scooter. My Spyder has been at the dealership in their repair shop waiting for parts longer than I care to mention. Simple inexpensive parts no less, but...

Bummed out waiting for a part

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but it's my impression that BRP (Buying Readymade Parts) is for the most, just an assembly plant. :dontknow:

Spyder pricing (looking for my first) - which do you think is the better deal?

Yep, the adventure part can be both good and not so good, depending on your stress meter. I would not suggest that approach if you were on a limited time frame and a tight budget.

Any way to modify an RTL to mimic the off-road features of the new Canyon?

Man that does look fun. I could get into that.

Anyone done a Cat Delete leaving stock muffler on?

Lamonster delete with the screen baffle, and a highly modified 2Bros muffler behind stage II. I get a tad of overlap on deceleration, bucu power, and 40 mpg. Gonna leave it that way until someone rats me out on the delete. LOL

I took this Belt Vibration Damper off a 2016 RTL - did they change for 2014+?

What's a tensioner pulley? It's a thingy that kinda looks like a dampner, a dampener or a damper. Or could it be the damthing that stops your drive belt from vibrating and driving you crazy? He!! I don't know I'm just guessing here. :dontknow: :roflblack:

Dead Battery - shows 13v but blank screen & no start! Help?

Yep, at seven years, your battery is likely toast. You have probably reached its limit of usability, and it's time for a new one. Good luck.

What Camper Trailer options are there for Spyder's - RT &/or F3?

If this is your first motorcycle/3-wheeler I'd suggest you get some serious riding time under your belt before you even start pulling a trailer. JMHO! Good luck, have fun, and stay safe on your adventures.

Spyder pricing (looking for my first) - which do you think is the better deal?

After owning a Spyder for 10+ years and knowing what I know now, if I were to buy another Spyder, I'd search the internet for a low mileage model of my choice. There are some excellent used Spyders out there for very good asking prices. I'd make a deal over the phone and in short, I'd grab my...
