• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any suggestions on running Gravel and dirt roads on a Spyder?

The short answer is "no". Stay out of the gravel. I lost a belt from a gravel detour where traffic was rerouted due to construction reasons. A dam rock punched a hole in the side of my belt. later I installed a belt guard I bought from Mr. Gadget but there are still no guarantees it won't...

What is your experience with the INNOVV N1 Dashcam?

JMHO, not everything that's looking to get you, happens directly in front or behind you. A couple of months ago I, watched a TC occur in a roundabout right next to me and my fixed forward mounted camera saw none of the accident. If I'd had my helmet camera at the time I'd have recorded it all...

Where did you find LED lights to fit here on a 2014 Spyder RT??

If you need more lighting I'd suggest going the easier route. LED strips on a skid plate, and aftermarket fog/spotlights on or near the "A" arms. As Peter mentioned, go the easier route. Something I've noticed lately that catches my attention is these guys running bright yellow aftermarket...

Where did you find LED lights to fit here on a 2014 Spyder RT??

Yeah, I think you're on to something here. I built my own Magic Mirrors (2 on each side). But I can't build LEDs. Like you said they are a PIA to install but the next time I lose a headlight I'm getting 2 dozen donuts and a full pot of coffee and replacing every light with LEDs. Ahh, maybe I'd...

Need to replace 2013 left lower side panel - can't get my Lava Bronze color, only Black. Any suggestions?

For what it's worth I wanted to match the color of my spyder and had a he!! of a time doing it trying to use liquid paint. Finally, I went to a shop that specialized in wraps. Within 15 minutes they matched my spyder's cognac color exactly.

What is your experience with the INNOVV N1 Dashcam?

I chose the H5 over the N1 and I received it just a couple of days ago. I haven't mounted it yet as it's a bit cold to start riding. Yeah I know I'm a wuss. I have an inexpensive camera mounted on my windshield but it doesn't record peripheral vision activity that suddenly occurs which can lead...

Thinking of getting a floor jack - how hard is it to find the right place to lift?

Here's something I'm going to look into a little more. A hand drill operated motorcycle lift. So far they look a little tippy and they seem to be expensive. If one could get enough height to set the spyder back down on a set of 3 car ramps, that's all the height I'd need to service my spyder. If...

Thinking of getting a floor jack - how hard is it to find the right place to lift?

Cut a 2x6 just long enough to fit up under the swing arm under the rear shock and place the HF jack under that 2x6. Exactly how I lift my Spyder. Also, this tool has the perfect angle for airing up that rear tire. Get it at HF.

What do you think of these Ramps for loading a Spyder onto an aluminum utility trailer?

All very good info here. I drilled a 3/8" hole through the ramps and through the trailer where they connect. I measured the width of the front tires on the Spyder and centered the drilled holes on that measurement and secured the ramps to the trailer with a single 2" 3/8" bolt through each hole...

Another rider needed a jump start, which got me thinking... Here's my better way!

I have a small HF 12v jump pack in the bottom of my trunk. Fast easy and works great.

What was your best Upgrade/Add-on to your Spyder???

I'm a conservative rider and ride 2up 50% of the time. So swaybar number one, followed by Stage II, and then Baker Airwings.

    WHAAAAAAT?! Snow in Dixie

I live in the far northern portion of Ca. at 4K foot elevation and we've seen "0" snowfall this year. But winter is not over yet. Normally we get 2'+ minimum and several days of 16 degrees back to back, but not so far. The change in the earth's precession may finally be making its effects known.

Anyone tried a Ramp for the rear wheel to make adding air easier?

If you're running southbound on the freeway on a hot summer afternoon your righthand front tire can exceed that 4 psi increase by some. But that's the ambient effect we can do nothing about. There are local highways I ride almost every time I go out and as my front tire psi gradually changes I...

G'day from Down Under - what to look for in a high milage Spyder?

Just an afterthought (LOL) if you're a diehard rider and you keep a 1330 for a few years you could make up the difference in MPG's alone.

G'day from Down Under - what to look for in a high milage Spyder?

You can easily spend more than $1K or more on a high milage pre-14 Spyder that needs work done + parts, unless you do your own work. I agree with shopping for a 2014 or later.

    My Blind Spot Mirror

If you've ever made a lane change without looking, FOR GOD'S SAKE LOOK where you're going! Don't totally rely on that "blind spot mirror" because that car speeding up behind you can take that position in a split second, and then you're TOAST! The old bikers refer to it as the "Messerschmitt...

Anyone tried a Ramp for the rear wheel to make adding air easier?

Mine changes about 4 PSI almost every ride. Less in the winter, more in the summer.

Something to carry my dog in???

I believe I'd go with something like a sidecar. Personally, I wouldn't want to be cooped up trailing behind a stinky loud exhaust for hours on end. Try it yourself sometime and see how you'd like it. I'm just say'n... think about it.

Anyone tried a Ramp for the rear wheel to make adding air easier?

Yes, good choice. If you didn't know better you'd think it was produced specifically for airing up a spyder's rear tire. Coupled with the little 45-degree digital tire pressure gauge your home free. I balance my FOBO's with the digital gauge to keep my tires at my choice of PSI. And then there's...
