• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Show Chrome Trunk Rack After Thoughts.

I put racks on my last three bikes (1 Kawi and 2 Victories). I seriously thought about putting one on the Spyder, still a little up in the air. Thank you Pjveetwin for the pic - easier to visualize how it would look. Not sure that with the bag configuration of the Spyder, along with the room...

Mid-West bracing for a Blizzard Winter Storm - Stay Safe

I'm surprised a little that I'm the first to post about it, but the midwest is bracing for a potential blizzard winter storm. My bike is tucked away in the (thankfully heated - never below 40 F as long as there is power) garage, so this storm is not affecting my ride time. But I hear all the way...

    Merry Christmas Everyone!

Poconos Trip June 2023 - any must see and do's in the area?

Thank you all for responding. I have a several page document with all suggestions on this thread and through those that PM'd me. I appreciate each and every one. I have the trip divided into three parts, and three "regions," which are of my own divisions, and follow no practical boundaries...

Found a Push button garage door opener!

Almost the same solution for me, except I added velcro, so it sticks to the lid. I pop the lid open and hit the button. I like the install of the unit though.

Poconos Trip June 2023 - any must see and do's in the area?

Again, thank you all for the ideas, there is still plenty of time for more suggestions. An itinerary is slowly taking shape as I get some minutes to work on it. I will say this, there is so much more to see than what I originally thought. My first thought was Gettysburg, Punxsutawney, Flight...

Deadwood 3Wheel Rally, 2023 - Getting ready to leave!

 Just booked our room for the rally. I showed my wife the website, and she said let's go!! Only stipulation was we are trailering the Spyder out there and then ride for 5 days out there. (we have a 10 day ride planned in June to PA which will be about 1,400 miles or so - the two long trips...

I have questions about various model configurations

blacklightning, if I may ask, and not to hijack the post, did you make the rack yourself, or was it purchased? I had a rack that fit the hitch on my Victory, but that went with the bike. I am planning to have a friend look into making one with aluminum to keep the weight down. Just curious?

2022 RT Ltd - which Trailer Hitch fits? OK with non-BRP trailers?

I purchased the BRP hitch when I bought my Spyder. I had to wait about 4 months for the axle bolt mentioned above. When the part came in, the dealer installed the bolt and the hitch (and wiring harness). I have a small HF cargo trailer we plan on towing, here it is attached to our 2014 Victory.

Is there any real data regarding the safety of the Spyder vs traditional motorcycles

Vito, I get what you are saying. And for us it is kind of the same, though we always wear helmets. On our 2-wheels previously, it was boots and jackets and gloves all the time. I think you have to decide what risk you are willing to take. Living where we do, I am more comfortable to stay local...

Poconos Trip June 2023 - any must see and do's in the area?

My wife and I are planning a trip in June to PA. I am thinking of taking the northern route from IL, stopping in Punxsutawney first to see the critter. Our way home will be a southern route to spend a day in Gettysburg. So I have the trip bookended with the tourist stuff. I am looking for...

Battery Tenders - should you use them or not?

I use one on my bike and mower every year about this time. When I don't ride (or use) for weeks at a time, the tender goes on anything with a battery.

    Extended Warranty Purchasing Advice Needed

I just purchased from Tom today for $671.00 - no additional taxes or fees. Like others have said, it was super easy and quick. I have had extended warranties on other vehicles, and used only twice, once on my 2013 pickup, and once on a 2017 minivan. Both paid for themselves. I like the peace of...

Did you keep your bike stock ??

I have added a few. Mostly cosmetic so far..... striping and grill guards. I will add more eventually.

    Wisecracks about Spyder

For me it has all been good natured. I got our Spyder because to me it is the ultimate touring machine for the way my wife and I travel. Some riding buddies call it my geezer glide or my 3-wheelchair. My Chief calls it the tricycle. All good natured and I appreciate the camaraderie.

Still riding weather in northern Illinois

Looking like a few more days of pleasant rides here in central IL - then might be a bit chilly........ still might get a sunny high 50's day or two in after next week - fingers crossed.

    Are those Training wheels………?

My riding buddies gave me some heck for sure when I traded my Victory for my Spyder, all good natured. My Chief has coined my Spyder as "the tricycle." Which technically is wrong, but as they say, the Chief is always right. Again, good natured ribbing all taken in stride, and given back at them...

Is there a Sport Mode for 2020+ RT's?

I too was exited to see "Sport Mode" in the manual for my '22 S2S. Alas, ARTraveller and Frogman are correct. Copy and paste in the manual, or they use the same pages for different models to save a penny or two, and no sport mode. Poor man's sport mode is making sure the eco is off and twist...
