• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What are the required dimensions for a Spyder rear brake piston adjusting tool?

I'm at home so I do not have the dimensions off hand. But we make that tool.

2016 Spyder F3 hard starting when hot.

A hot starter will always draw more than a cool one, and a starter going bad is always a possibility. But we've seen zero bad starters on any Spyder so far. Again, not that it can't happy and not a bad idea to eliminate it as your source for hot start issues. Has anyone out there had to replace...

Will a pre-load after market rear shock replace the need for the air bag?

Find someone you can trust to send you one from Down Under. But consider warranty and servicing might be an issue if it ever comes to it.

2016 Spyder F3 hard starting when hot.

If your battery drops to around 11v or less during the cranking process, that's not enough to reliably start a Spyder. Frankly, I'm amazed it starts at all if dipping into the 8v range. Be sure your battery is fully charged. A trickle charger won't get it. And I highly recommend a charger that...

2025 Pulse and Origin Reveal - did they fail mileage hopes?

I agree. I'm not big on change for change sake. Or just so you can say 'New & Improved'. Granted. Anything can be improved, I get it. But how much more do you want to pay for an F3? And how many excellent products have you seen get a facelift, only to discover that you liked the original model...

2019 RT brake pedal still travels too far with new front pads installed. How do I get it back to normal?

As mentioned, you only need BUDS to cycle the ABS system. Not necessary in 99% of Spyders. Don't use DOT 3 (not even sure you can still find it anyway). Dot 4 is fine. The brake systems on the Spyder don't typically get hot enough to warrant DOT 5.1, which is usually a bit more expensive...

What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

Well, that is an interesting angle. There has to be some reason that the corporate mind has which prevents them from such a simple fix. And in this insane world, an insane explanation may actually be quite logical. Well done! I think you could be right!

2022 RT Ltd - fan ran the entire ride home & then would not shut off, even when I shut off the Spyder - anyone else? Any ideas?

I agree, sounds like a sticky relay. Relays are generic and you should be able to find one at you local automotive store. Smacking it may work. But for the cost of a new one, it's usually best to just replace it. Fortunately, yours is an easy fix.

Where can I buy Struts for the Seat & Trunk lid on a '22 RT Limited?

Would be nice if it were spring loaded with a click-on, click-off latch.

Where can I buy Struts for the Seat & Trunk lid on a '22 RT Limited?

Pretty much, everyone carries them. The aftermarket struts are heavier duty and work better than the OEM version. I'm pretty sure they are less expensive also.

At what RPM do you shift on a 988 RSS for mileage

I don't remember what the manual says. But there is no 'Reserve' on a Spyder. And the spec volume includes a fair amount of air space that you cannot get fuel into. Don't count on 6.6 gallons of fuel. No problem, it happens. The Spyder may have the steepest learning curve of any ride.

How do you determine your head Shape when buying a helmet?

You're right, Arai does not make a modular helmet. Good advice in these posts. Helmets should get more attention than they do. And PDXRTL is right. Though they tend to stay within a range, there is no industry standard for the different head shapes. Even within the same brand there can be...

What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

I don't know of any wheel that your can 'flip' or mount the opposite way, front or rear. Maybe a wheelbarrow or lawn mower. But not something with lug nuts.

CAUTION - RTL Brake calliper bolts are recommended One Time Use only!

We reuse the caliper bolts with no issues. However, we do run the threads on a wire wheel, spray them with brake cleaner, and use blue Loctite. Not saying that anyone should do it this way. But the disclaimer is a CYA more than a necessity. Not always the case, of course. But when you run this...

    Can-Am dealers not hungry?

It really comes back to the money. As much as we'd like to disparage this aspect. If you're not making money, you might as well go home. The Spyder is a low volume, difficult to work on machine. Most mechanics don't like it. We've got a certified Spyder tech here in town that quit the...

Confused about tire pressure - Spyder feels squirrelly, do I go up, or down?

As mentioned above, there is a world of difference between the OEM Kenda's and what is referred to as 'Car' or 'Aftermarket' tire. Which is a misnomer because the OEM Kenda's are a 'Car' tire. Just so poorly made that you would never actually want to run them on a car. Because the sidewalls on...

How do you determine your head Shape when buying a helmet?

I've been carrying Arai helmets since 1998 and yours is a very good question. One that most never ask. Most simply buy the helmet that looks the best without regard to protection. If the helmet does not fit correctly, your protection is quite small. Being in the fire service, I went to more...

Do I really need a Battery Holder, or is it OK not to have one?

Yes, as everyone else has said, you really want that hold down for your battery. Don't get one and sooner or later, you too will agree that it is needed. We would rather not have you come back and tell us what happens when you don't strap down your battery. Just the fact that everyone (so far)...

What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

I didn't see that. But if this is the case. Whoever did the tire swap did not correctly clock the sprocket correctly. He should return to the installer and ask that this be corrected. I'm not sure how a person could like the rear wheel valve stem on the left side making it quite difficult to...
