• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BajaRon Ultra swaybar and BajaRon front shocks coming in this afternoon - any suggestions for initial settings?

See below... Adjusting Ride Height Configure your Spyder for your average ride. 1-up, 2-up, average baggage, etc. On a flat and level surface, have a helper measure from the bottom of the central frame member towards the front of that frame member to the floor. Using the provided Red Spanner...

2008 SM5 Hard shifting when warm - any ideas?

Freddy has a good point. How far does your clutch lever go before you feel resistance? The clutch uses brake fluid which is hydroscopic (absorbs water). It should be flushed at least every 4 years if not more often. If it's been in there since 2008, well, you can see that might be your problem...

Foot Brake vs Handlebar Brake - would it be better for me?

Hound is correct. The ISCI brake kit simply attaches to the master cylinder linkage. No need to modify or remove the foot brake. Just leave it there. It will go up and down with the use of the hand brake. McClendons is also correct that the hand brake is not as strong as the foot brake. But it...

Anyone else have or know what this Front end banging/clanking noise might be?

Check your bushings anyway. There were some instructions that went out without the information provided in my previous post. The bushings are right there at the end of the sway bar channel; and you'll be able to see right away if they meet the recommended criteria. If they don't, just tighten...

Anyone else have or know what this Front end banging/clanking noise might be?

If you find the bushing(s) to be the issue. I highly recommend making sure they are correctly tightened before doing anything else. If it is our bar kit, then be sure there is no gap in the split where the bushing bolt goes through the bushing. And there should be a slight dimple raised at this...

Is the General Altimax RT45 a good Replacing rear tire for a 2017 Spyder RT Ltd?

The 45 is a great tire. We sell and install a lot of these with very happy customers. But I would recommend sticking with the 215/60R15 version. You probably won't get near the 60k out of it. But it will go much further than the OEM tires. If you are willing to take the rear wheel off, most...

Anyone purchased a Tow Smart Trailer to haul their Spyder? Feedback?

I assume you're looking at the utility version. It looks like you'll need to figure out a way to ramp the center rear tire. They show a Spyder on one. But they don't show how they loaded it. However, it does appear that there are 3 ramps at the front in this picture. Weight capacity and size...

Anyone else have or know what this Front end banging/clanking noise might be?

Sound radiates. If you can put a hand on the various components as someone rocks the bike (be careful. Start rocking gently and increase until the sound can be heard). It could be a sway bar component if the fittings were not tightened correctly. Or it could be an upper shock bushing gone bad...

Did my own 3000 mile oil change - not a big deal

Of course, you can't go wrong with the OEM oil filter... Or maybe you can?! This is old news and no longer applies. But in 2012, BRP pulled all their oil filters off the shelves and out of inventory. Why? Because they were so poorly constructed with such low quality materials that they were...

2015 F3S Oil Pump Failure, replaced, engine still ticking - any ideas on what component/s might have been damaged?

I would check valve clearance. If that is your noise, then check the cam lobe on that valve.

White knuckle test ride - can I learn to like this? Buy newish or older/cheaper?

That is good news! For my worthless opinion, I think you did it just right. Get a well maintained older Spyder. If you love it, you can always get your money back and move up. If you hate it, no big hole in your wallet. I've yet to meet someone who gave the Spyder an honest chance that didn't...

Oil leak at the filter - any suggestions?

If you expect your dealership parts person to know what they are doing, you may be in trouble. I hate to say it but it is true. Some know what they are about, but far too many do not. Like many things Spyder. If you don't know more about your machine than the person working on it, well. I'll say...

2025 Pulse and Origin Reveal - did they fail mileage hopes?

Well, yes. If you're losing rear tire traction at over 35 mph (I believe) there isn't really any way to keep the Nanny from slapping you down. The Spyder is not designed to drift. Drifting is fine until you get that sudden stop. Then it's 'See Ya!'. The best way to be fast on the Spyder is...

2025 Pulse and Origin Reveal - did they fail mileage hopes?

I can see your point there. But I'm seeing older model F3's with low mileage for very good prices. It's always an option if you don't want to spring for new and not improved.

2025 Pulse and Origin Reveal - did they fail mileage hopes?

Improve handling with suspension upgrades and it will tone down the Nanny quite a bit. Though granted, she will never go away. Which, in the long run, is a good thing.

What are the required dimensions for a Spyder rear brake piston adjusting tool?

Shipping should be somewhat less than $20.00 depending on where you are in Canada. If you call the shop we can give you an exact amount. But I get it. International shipping has gotten ridiculous since Covid. Rates have skyrocketed and service has plummeted. Which is true of many things...

What are the required dimensions for a Spyder rear brake piston adjusting tool?

We have not yet found a kit that will work on the Spyder. That's why we made our tool. I'm not saying there isn't one out there. But we have customers call all the time saying they got such & such kit, either purchased or borrowed from their auto parts store, with all these different adapters...
