• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I’m getting frustrated with the belt vibration - any ideas to help?

Damper will likely solve the vibration, Careful monitoring of the roller should prevent belt damage. I change the roller every 15k miles because they do wear. On #3 with no issues.

What's the Accuracy of the Speedometer?

I have found over all my bikes from several brands that ALL speedos read ~5% faster than actual. The faster you go, the more the spread. When I switched to car tires, my Spyder speedo became dead-on accurate compared to GPS.

Has anybody heard any rumors on the 2025 Spyder Models? New line-up released!

You need to have a friend with a tire changer handy. The rear will be lucky to get 10k miles with the best of tires.

Are the Upper and Lower Air Deflectors worth having on a 2023 Spyder?

I've had them on my '20 RT for 3 years and ride year-round almost every weekend. I've ridden in temps from 18-102F. That said, I can't say I've felt much relief (hot or cold) from the addition of the adjustable vanes. The biggest benefit to reduce the heat is cat removal.

Those of you that Concealed Carry on your Spyder, what type of holster do you use?

I'll need to remember this if THE MAN ever shows up at my front door!

How difficult is it to remove these (Bigger mystery) side panels?

To remove the large black panel: - remove gloss black panel in front of seat (pops off) - remove painted strip below seat (pops off) - remove painted panel from frunk to seat (3 bolts and 3 poppers) - (Not required but may make it easier to take off big panel) remove the small gloss panel...

Any reason NOT to buy a 2012 RT Limited?

Low mileage on a 12 y/o bike means serious due diligence. Tires, seals, O-rings, dry out, and fluids get murky. Best to avoid unless you like to do lots of work on the machine yourself.

What do you do to stop if Spyder Brake Master cylinder quits?

You could attempt to do a spin out if you have the space. Bailing out is a last resort IMHO.

Anyone ever used a Universal Cruise Control on 2020 RT?

That switch is a FREE recall for the 2020. Mine went flakey on a trip and kept bringing in the nanny or cut CC. I replaced it before the recall :gaah:

How much will it help to wrap the exhaust pipe going into cat/primary muffler?

Just removing the cat will reduce the radiated heat. Not sure how much more the wrap will help.

Are there any safe & convenient ways to carry Reserve Fuel?

I get at least 10-15 miles more range per fill-up using 91 vs 87. I'm not looking for better MPG. I want more Miles per fill-up. On 87 I get ~180-190 mi/tank On 91 I get ~200-210. I had to use 87 several times on my last western trip and there was a definite reduction in range.

    Anybody add a bumper guard?

Funny you bring this up as I just installed a bumper guard today on my '20 RT. Last month I smashed the 'chin' and the entire frunk, except the hood, needed replacement. All the black tupperware was destroyed but no mechanical damage at all. I was able to clean up the pieces enough to continue...

Are there any safe & convenient ways to carry Reserve Fuel?

Based on my last x-country trip, it's not uncommon to find listed stations either closed, out of fuel, or only offering regular gas. Mileage range is reduced if you run regular vs. premium. You may want to carry octane boosters just in case.
