• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To kill or not to kill (switch), that is the question

Really. That’s where training comes in. Emergency procedures. Practice. Take the class. Learn. Practice more. I guess shutting your eyes, swearing, and hoping for the best is a technique; just not a good one!

To kill or not to kill (switch), that is the question

I’ll put my MSF Safety Instructor hat on; use the engine cut off switch EVERY TIME you turn off the Spyder. This creates muscle memory. If you are about to crash, are on fire, going off the road……you are only going to do what you have trained to do. Do not remove your hand from the grip to turn...

Any pics of Cutting a windshield? How is it done?

Jig saw, fine blade, lots of painters tape, belt sander. I like the plastic shop idea! I was very worried about scratching or breaking it. I did not, but, pure luck!!

How big is too big for a Ryker?

Ride one and see. Greg, chime in. They are fun. We just got a Rally, and have 2 900’s to play with on the tour. See my thread on Demo tour, click on the link, find a test ride. Ride. Then decide. Saddles are the key. Once you find the right one, the rest is just fun! Not a touring bike, but...

Anybody done a Battery re-location on 2011 Spyder?

Most battery changes are an hour or less. On a tender, batteries last at least 3 years, maybe more. Seems like a lot of work on such an old machine. Batteries moved to the trunk in 13…..

Help needed - saddlebag latches hard to open 2020RT Ltd?

2 things: Bill, there is a service bulletin out for sticking cables. Contact the dealer to order replacements. All cables require lube. Disconnect one end, get it higher than the other end, add a few drops of light machine oil (3 in 1 oil) until the cable slides smoothly in the casing...

Damaged clip on front end - any easy way to fix?

I’ve had good luck with “ the last Glue”. Alternatively, a Dzus fastener would work . Our 22 rally has them in the front. Any good hardware store will have them.

    Continuing DESS Issue?

Pictures: Picture 1 is where it is, picture 2 is snorkel on right, picture 3 is the DESS module. We took the headlights out, but you don’t have to. Just happened to swap in LED bulbs. Fog lights are much easier this way! Joe

    Continuing DESS Issue?

I did one last month. 6 bolts, loosen the air intake snorkel clamp. Lift off the frame hanger, set on a dolly or something. Pull forward a few inches. Unplug, R/R DESS. A finger full of goop or lanolin on the snorkel boot, slips right on! Bolt up!

Alaska Leather sheepskin pad vs. butt buffer

Have a custom saddle made to fit you. I’ve had Russel day long and a couple of Laamseats. I like the Laam better. The sheepskin allows air to circulate, so you are more comfortable. The properly fitted saddle eliminates butt pain. Worth every penny! We normally do 30,000 miles a year. I could...

Anyone own a Handy BOB Lift? Any better options?

I have a big blue. It’s great, but it takes up space I don’t have. Was about $750, plus shipping. I’d sell it for half that. Come pick it up - everyone needs a trip to Las Vegas!

I can not get my front trunk open! Help?

Pop off the left speaker cover. Look to see if the cable is broken or disconnected. If so, fish it out and tug on the cable, holding the sheath. It will open. If it is disconnected, remove both headlights, and reconnect it. If it’s broken, remove both headlights and replace it. Call if you get...
