• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does Your Horn Sound Off Without Turing On The Ignition?

Hazard lights I agree with, but I don't believe that's the case here with horns on bikes. Out of curiosity, I will stop in a couple of bike dealership and do a random horn test to see if the horns sound off with the ignition is off.

Does Your Horn Sound Off Without Turing On The Ignition?

I ask that because mine does. I always assumed that it wouldn’t and never tested it previously to see. I installed (Harbor Freight) air horns on my 2022 Scout and just used the existing horn leads to trigger a separate relay, that in turn powered the compressor for the horns. After installation...

Almost Done With The Ryker's Add-ons

Just finished installing the SE Performance skid plate...... and boy, was that fun. :roflblack: Ran the front of the Sport up on car ramps and jacked the back end with a small jack with a jack stand in place as back-up.... and yes, I was being wary of the wires back there. The fun parts were...

    Relativitry

This was the grave marker I’d mentioned above. His brother Aaron Bell Young (also mentioned above) also served. He enlisted as a private but retired as an officer after the conflict. Pardoned by Pres. Andrew Johnson in 1865, he returned to farming near where he was raised in WV. I found his...

    Relativitry

This morning, I made a run over to the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA to check the route we'll be taking tomorrow for the interment of a relative there that passed away recently. While there, figured I'd check on the tombstone I had placed several years ago on the unmarked grave of another...

Almost Done With The Ryker's Add-ons

Been twice, first time was on a bike in ’74. Was living in Lynchburg, VA at the time. Ran into snow coming back somewhere in one of the Carolinas, so retreated to the cab of a small Toyota truck (with another rider, and the truck's driver) for the night. The truck was being driven by another who...

Almost Done With The Ryker's Add-ons

BTTB? Nah, not really. A lot of it is just a mental thing. The heated gear I have works pretty well at keeping cold at bay. Now, back in my working days and commuting by bike, I studded up the tires on my KLR so I could keep riding when there was snow and ice on the roads. No snow and ice? I'd...

Almost Done With The Ryker's Add-ons

No, haven't done that yet. But just seeing the way the filter housing is buried, it could be a mess. A little worse now with some of the stuff that's been added in that area. Even before that, I could see that the frame cross piece, steering linkage, and coolant hose were already going to cause...

Almost Done With The Ryker's Add-ons

Between yesterday and today, I added several items to my 2022 Ryker Sport, to include: Aluminum “chin” radiator protector, aluminum lower A-frame splash guards, and a slightly taller and wider adjustable windshield. The only thing remaining for this go-around is an aluminum engine/CVT protective...

Any decent Ryker windshields, cheaper but worth buying? Recommendations please?

The same to you, and to all the other inmates as well.

Any decent Ryker windshields, cheaper but worth buying? Recommendations please?

LOL! I love beer, with or without the oysters. Also, I just shuck them and slurp them down. Been eating them that way for years. I also occasionally make a batch of oyster stew. My mom used to make it for special occasions when I was coming up. Some things you just develop an affinity for. I...

Any decent Ryker windshields, cheaper but worth buying? Recommendations please?

We’re gonna find out about them ‘cuz I have one on order now. The PO I bought my Ryker from had a Madstad Tour 24 shield that they offered me. No money was mentioned, but glad logistics intervened, and I politely refused the offer. Found out later that Madstad shields require their own very...

Any Skid Pan Recommendations for a 2022 Ryker Sport?

Thank you. Neat idea. We save those; my wife uses them for all sorts of simple projects for the kids she works with.

Any Skid Pan Recommendations for a 2022 Ryker Sport?

Can anyone recommend a decent skid pan for the 2022 Ryker Sport that provides adequate protection for the occasional (easy) ride down a gravel, or even a halfway decent forest service road? There seems to be a few of them out there, some aluminum (preferred), some plastic. I don’t want to turn...

Has anyone seen or have info on this electric Ryker shifter mod?

Happy with it so far. Have added a Show Chrome Reverse Lever Cover (extender), which give me better purchase/control with my foot. Next up is making a little platform to cover the pillion section of the Ultimate seat, so that an Igloo cooler will sit there a little more stable. Will be picking...

Any Pro/Con comments on Ryker OEM Heated Grips? Anyone installed them?

I asked the lady I bought the bike from and she said they considered them, but thought they were a little pricey. They just settled on the wind deflectors for the hand guards. Back then, they just may have been the ON/OFF type with no real temperature control, or an aftermarket version that did...

Any Pro/Con comments on Ryker OEM Heated Grips? Anyone installed them?

Further update on the BRP Grip Heaters. I've kinda got a handle on how to adjust the temperature setting on the grips now and used them real-time this evening when I rode over to our church's Weds. evening dinner, it was in the low 40's. I had pulled out my gloves to put on but decided to stash...

Has anyone seen or have info on this electric Ryker shifter mod?

Thank you. Oh boy! Self-taught wanna be, but not a professional. My career path is somewhat muddled and swapped back and forth from electronics/electrical, to combination electrical/mechanical, back to electrical, and eventually mechanical again... all at my own discretion. I built the garage...

Has anyone seen or have info on this electric Ryker shifter mod?

Thanks again. Yeah, I’ve had a 5mm that I’d cut the short arm down awhile back, and that’s what I used to loosen, and s-l-o-w-l-y back the bolt out originally, but didn’t do anything with the long arm to get up in behind the remainder of the airbox molding. By that time my knees and back were...

Has anyone seen or have info on this electric Ryker shifter mod?

Thanks to both. Already figured the airbox would have to come off. That's what I have my air horns attached to, but they'll come off with it (the highway pegs have been removed). Also, I do have a small Chapman set that has a miniature ratchet for those types of bits, so I may get lucky and...
