• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    West Coast Spyder Event... interested??

"Baby" steps We rode down to Hollywood for the annual owners event in 2009, a mere 400ish miles which was no problem for us. I was very encouraged by how we handled it and thought it a good practice for our big trip in September '09 across the country. We rode roughly 6200 miles from home to...

Orange spyder skid light comes on

Whey I ride to work I park the Spyder in a maintenance yard that looks as though it was last paved in 1927. Recently I've had some momentary DPS cut-outs which I attributed to a battery that needs tending but now I'm wondering if maybe it has to do with hitting these small potholes that happen...

    RT Shocks

Just installed RT shocks on my GS/RS and I'm looking forward to the added stability. I've ridden my wife's machine with the RT shocks and there was quite a difference. :2thumbs:

    So excited!!!

I have the V46 GIVI case whereas my wife has the E55. The E55 is larger and has actual hinges so it will stay open without holding up the lid. I also think that it's more attractive with its gloss black accents. But, since I have the phantom kit, the V46's muted styling matched better for me...

    Talk to me about reliability

I would say that the fun and joy far outweighs any potential issues you may run into. My wife and I have been happy Spyder owners since February 2008 and after 30,000 miles we've only had one issue that we didn't bring upon ourselves which was the failure of the DESS, the Digitally Encoded...

    West Coast Spyder Event... interested??

I'm so glad that so many people are excited about this potential event. I've been up there many times in the past but only once for pleasure and never on 3 wheels. I have the highest hopes that this will work out famously. Thank you all for your enthusiasm! :2thumbs:

    Reliability question

We took off on a 6200 mile trip across country after 15,000 miles on our original 2008 Premiere Edition RS. Obviously this wasn't a month after purchase but in a way this is more telling, all kinds of time and mileage for something to go wrong on a first model year brand new type of vehicle but...

After 30K miles... still have my original front tires...

Heavy man on back Spydergirl is my wife and up until July when the 2nd Spyder came to be, roughly half of the 28000 miles at the time was ridden with me on the back. Maybe the extra weight on back has allowed the front tires to wear less. On the other hand, maybe we've just been lucky...

    New DPS on RS

WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!:2thumbs::clap::2thumbs::clap::2thumbs::clap: If that wasn't clear that the new DPS is AWESOME then allow me to describe what I believe to be the most definitive points of consideration: 1) On a mountain back road (that we frequently use to avoid 4 lanes...

    ESI Easy Risers - Review

Greetings all, Here is my fashionably late review on my ESI Easy Risers: Pics will come later... I have to say that if your budget is a concern, the easy risers are the most bang for the buck as compared to the other risers available. My wife has the other ones on her Spyder and the only...

    Removing rear wheel?

All, We've done this and it really is a brilliant way of avoiding paying the dealership a lot of money. The worst part of it is getting the belt back on straight afterwards. For this I recommend following the procedure laid out in the shop manual. We did so and immediately left on a 2400...

East Contra Costa County, CA ryders show yourselves

To anyone local to the area in the subject line: I've heard rumors of a yellow Spyder in the Oakley area and a white Spyder was seen by a friend of mine on Highway 4 and a pic was posted on Facebook. Spydergirl and I saw a red one on Camino Diablo near Bear Creek Road in Orinda and I saw a red...

Mods on my RS-S so far!

A couple suggestions... Hi there, gorgeous bike! :2thumbs: I have a couple suggestions for you... 1) My wife (Spydergirl) has the same wheels and she meticulously cut blue vinyl (hers is blue) onto the silver face of the wheels after seeing another white one that had theirs painted to match...
