• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Some Questions from a Potential New Buyer

Hey guys, I went and test drove the Spyder this evening and as fun as it was, its not for me. I'm fairly sure if something whipped out in front of me and I had to make an emergency turn on that thing that I would come flying off the side. And with a daughter that I still have to support, I...

Some Questions from a Potential New Buyer

Has anyone performed their riding test to get their motorcycle license/endorsement on their Spyder? Was this allowed?

What do you wear when you ride your Spyder?

Probably sounds like a funny question, but as a complete newb I'm not sure what all to wear. Looking in the Texas DPS Motorcycle Handbook, it says this: • Jacket and pants should cover arms and legs completely. They should fit snugly enough to keep from flapping in the wind, yet loosely...

Some Questions from a Potential New Buyer

I found a dealer today that allows test drives. Hopefully going to give it a whirl this weekend. Thanks again for all the info.

Some Questions from a Potential New Buyer

No, I have zero motorcycle background. I found a local class where they provide the motorcycles. I guess I will need to take that first. Hoping I can get a quick test ride without spending the money on the license beforehand.

Some Questions from a Potential New Buyer

Wow, it seems a few here didn't test ride it first. I'm kinda dead set on getting on one before I drop the coin on it. Also, I live in a state where I need a motorcycle license (endorsement) to ride it legally. Are those weekend motorcycle safety classes worth while? Or should I just show up...

Some Questions from a Potential New Buyer

Nah, its from the same people (who don't ride anything) that told me I was going to die when I bought my first jetski nine years ago :) I can't imagine going 80+ MPH through a narrow creek on a modified jetski is any safer than doing 60 MPH on an empty highway with a Spyder.

Some Questions from a Potential New Buyer

Thanks for all the good info so far. Everyone I know is working hard to try to talk me out of buying one of these. Despite explaining the safety features to them, they ensure me that a car will not see me and run over me or pull out in front off me at high speed. I also just talked to one...

Oh and also, do you recommend the manual or semi-auto transmission for newbs?

Some Questions from a Potential New Buyer

Hello, I'm new here and considering buying a Spyder. I don't come from a motocycle background at all, but rather a hi performance jet ski (BRP/SeaDoo) background. For me this would be purely a recreational vehicle. At this point, I wouldn't foresee myself doing any real long trips, daily...
