• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Sway Bar Websites

I couldn't agree more, Ron. I bought a new sway bar before the Spyder was even delivered. Before: handled like a wet sponge. After: can keep up with the two wheelers without feeling like my life is about to end very soon. Robert

    Sway Bar Websites

Bob, I'm not saying that anyone's anti swaybar is causing this, just that BRP view suspension mods in a certain way. I've deleted the post because I think that it may have been confusing to some. It was my intention to inform but I only succeeded in muddying the waters. Robert

    Sway Bar Websites

Scotty, I agree that the request is not unreasonable except that his RT was behaving in this manner when it was in stock trim; this is why he did the modifications in the first place. He really should have taken it back before doing the mods. In any case I'm just reporting BRP's attitude, which...

    Throttle body issue

My 2011RT is having the throttle bodies replaced as I write. It did leave me stranded and I had to put it on a truck and send it back to the dealer. At the time BRP Australia had no throttle bodies in stock, even though I still maintain that this is a common problem (which they deny). I will...

    Front dipped head lights

I think ours in Australia are the same as the UK models. Our low beam is what you have as fog lights in USA and high beam is the upper pair of lights; if we want fog lights we have to buy and fit our own. The thing about this arrangement that is truly weird is that when you turn on the high...

    MSRP just the start

Love your Redback spider on the frunk. They are native to here in Australia and closely related to your black widow. Is it a stick-on or a custom paint job? Rob

    Mounting your Spyder

Hmmmmm...... Is it the other way around Down Under? Well, being from Down Under, we just mount it from down under! We then ride away on the correct side of the road (ie left)!

<600 miles and sweet chemical/fuel smells at end of ride

Coolant? The smell that you describe seems to be coolant which I describe as a sweet peppery smell. I haven't checked the coolant on mine after its first service but from reading posts on here, it's quite difficult to see through the expansion bottle anyway. As to the fuel smell, you can be...

    Will gloves help?

If you ride any kind of motorcycle, including the Spyder, you really should wear proper riding gloves for safety (as well as all the other gear). Quality riding gloves are designed to be comfortable and will resist bursting seams plus they will stay on your hands if you contact the road. No...

    Horns

Degrees of separation. If space is too tight for the Stebel, the horn section can be separated from the compressor and then run a piece of plastic tubing between the two parts. Robert

Just out of curiosity how many people have hot foot problem

Not yet No, I haven't had that problem as yet but in Australia we are going into summer soon as you are going into winter. I'll reserve judgment for now. Rob

Would you buy your RT all over again?

No After 2 months of ownership and seeing my ride leave on the back of a tow truck for the second time....... I doubt it. Brilliant concept undone by poor reliability (for me).

    Proper Tire Pressure???

rating pressure gauges When I searched online for an accurate pressure gauge, I noticed that some were graded as A or B. I decided to go with a grade A that I bought from a local camping shop since the Spyder is so sensitive to pressure variations. Grade B is supposedly accurate to + or - 2%...

The MOST unreliable POS I have ever owned

Dave, I know how you feel. I bought my RT two months ago and after ONE day it was sent back to the dealer with a check engine alert. That one turned out to be "instrument panel interruption" and the dealer tightened all connections behind the panel. I didn't know how to check for codes until...
