• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Harley Davidson fined for emissions from after market devices

I'm no fan of Harley Davidson, but this is a bit ridiculous. Going after a manufacturer for selling a tuner? :banghead:

    In your fourties..??..😲

Ha ha... It's pretty interesting how much society has changed, hasn't it? I'm a recruiter for the Army, and we see this at work all the time. Believe it or not, we were using Pokemon Go as a way of finding people just a few weeks ago. :roflblack:

    New around these parts...

Thanks guys. For the heck of it I went out and tried BoilerAnimal's advice and kept it in 4th and cruised around 62 MPH. About 40 miles and she was ready for gas, and to my surprise I recorded the first tank yet over 30 MPG. I don't get it, but I'll take it. Tried a tank of 87 octane...

Thanks. I've read a bit about the centrifugal clutch, and it seems like the computer acts to protect the clutch. Seems like engine power on takeoff is significantly restricted until the clutch locks up. Also, it appears to restrict power at low RPMs, and when you're asking for more than the...

Thanks, I read through that Saturday evening after we bought it. Answered a lot of questions, but I'm still a bit perplexed about the high RPM advice. Seems to run contradictory to everything I've ever been taught or heard. I was 18 when I bought the Intruder as my first bike, and at the...

A bit misleading, only about 25 miles have been with both of us. We've both been grabbing the keys and going as much as we can. To date she has more miles on it than me, and I hope to fix that this evening. :ohyea:

How are the car tires treating you? Do they perform as well as the factory Kendas?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Lots of information on here, I was pulling up this forum more than a few times when I was searching for information on Google. So far the only disappointment is fuel economy, I sort of expected this thing to do a little better than the ten-year-old...

    New around these parts...

Thanks Bob! I'm not certain. I never even knew there was an issue until stumbling upon a thread that mentioned it. Found a recall on NHTSA's website for the '13 RT, but my VIN doesn't show anything open on the same site or Can-Am's recall checker. What was involved with the recall? What...

Good morning everyone. Wife and I got our first Spyder over the weekend. I've been riding two-wheeled bikes for the last 13 years, and my wife has always wanted to ride as well. She got her motorcycle license a few years ago, but never got comfortable on a two-wheeled machine. Part of that...

What is the Average Age of Spyder Owners? - 2nd Edition

New member here, and we just got our first Spyder last weekend. My wife has always wanted to ride, and even got her motorcycle license three years ago with the basic rider's course. She's always had knee problems though, and would never get comfortable enough on my bike to put any time on...

    DESS Update

I know this is a Spyder forum, but... Call the 1-800 number for Ford customer service. Explain the situation to them, and they will likely offer to cover some of the repair.

    Found side cover

Thanks Guys, Here's the schematic for mine: http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/oemparts/a/cam/51630ee6f870021a2486129b/body-and-accessories-front I can't figure out which part is the RH side cover though. Can someone give me a hand? Good to see someone from my old neck of the woods on here...

    Found side cover

Lost the right side cover on ours on Saturday about four hours after we bought it. I removed the right-side cover to see about service access, and it flew off the first ride after that. I found it, but of course it's a bit nicked up from sliding down the road. I'm having a tough time...

    B.E.S.T. price for extended warranty

Good morning everyone. First post here, my wife and I just got a used '13 RT-S SE5 over the weekend. We paid $770 to extend the previous owner's 3-year warranty to 5 years when we purchased it. We were lucky that we picked one that was still under an extended warranty. :)
