• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In truth, I could so see myself doing that... I thought it was comical before you deleted it. John

    Epic Spyder Fails

This thread is dedicated to the stupid sh-tuff we all did that we totally knew better but did it anyway. It is meant to be both jovial and educational at the same time. If you intention is to bash any posters, you missed the point and I'd respectfully request you keep it to yourself... I'll...

    Drive through windows

I've used them often to grab a quick bite during my lunch hour (some of us still have that J O B thing). I just reach over and put my food in the side saddle bag while at the window. As for the drink, I always get bottled water so that's not an issue. John

    July weather news

Yea, we're kind of in a cold snap for the remainder of the week. It's only going to be in the 106 deg range for the week. One thing about the weather in the desert southwest, it tends to be a "hold my beer" kind of thing. John

Solutions for Excessive Heat on Right Side of F3T?

You must have a high tolerance for heat, or you wear enough riding gear where you could walk through a burning building and not feel any heat! :dontknow: Due to a service connected foot issue (which i actually get VA compensation for) heavy boots are out of the question. Most footwear is a...

Looking for some advice on how to load an RT into a Newmar Canyon Star Toy Hauler

You're gonna let you husband have a wench? You're a really good sport! :ohyea: If he's going to use a winch i would suggest getting one with a synthetic rope vs a steel rope. Less chance of marring anything and they are safer to handle. A decent ATV winch, maybe 2,000 lbs would do the trick. John

Looking for some advice on how to load an RT into a Newmar Canyon Star Toy Hauler

The problem with your suggestion is the ramps are a fixed height. If the ground is uneven, Triplethreat would have no way to compensate for the unevenness. With three adjustable jacks, he can set the height of the T.H. ramp where he needs it to be level with the 5'er. Even if that means the...

I hope you didn't take my reply as a suggestion to charge a fee. I was just stating what some other sites do to cover costs in response to AnthonyG mentioning the option is not free. I much prefer free sites! John

Thank you for looking into it for me. I totally get the monetary implication as this is a free site. Some of the other sites I'm on do charge a nominal annual fee ($12.00 per year) to cover costs and keep the site ad free. Safe ryding! John

Actually no... Lets say for example someone asks a question. I know that you have run across this issue in the past. I can respond to the thread by saying something like "@trikermutha didn't you run across this a while ago? Please chime in..." And my response will send you a notice that you have...

Suggestion... On some of the other sites I frequent who also use vBulletin, there is an option to use the "@" plus their user name, for example @Ready2Retire. This will send a message to that user under the "Notifications" tab that they have been mentioned in a post. This is useful if for...

Hi triplethreat. I actually thought about stealing your pics from the other site and posting them here as another idea (giving you credit of course!). Glad you chimed in... John

Looking for some advice on how to load an RT into a Newmar Canyon Star Toy Hauler

This may be apples to oranges as I don't know how steep the ramp is on your Newmar. I recently loaded my Spyder in our Grand Design Momentum 381M toy hauler. The 381 was hooked to the truck when I loaded it, but if the break-over angle was not going to work, I could unhook and raise the front of...

    Being seen

I work as the Vehicle Garage Shift Supervisor for our local school district. The majority of MVA's we're involved in are rear-enders! How in the blazes can you not see a bright yellow, 8' wide 12' tall vehicle, with reflective tape all over it, and with flashing lights and stop signs? Ryding the...

    Road side lift?

That's why we carry one of these. We've been stranded in the Death Valley back country and it's not fun... They're a lot cheaper on Amazon or REI. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/561269 John

    Hot weather operation

I know you were only joking (as was I) but in truth I'd sooner ride barefoot than in flip flops. Flip flops are too loose on your feet and I'd be afraid the would get in the way or try to come off at the wrong time. At least barefoot I wouldn't have that problem. Not sure why I'd need a...

    ATGATT on Spyder = PTGATT?

This is called "Modified Comparative Negligence" and is typically codified in your state statutes. If the judge or jury finds you were >50% responsible for your own injuries, your judgement could be reduced to zero. John

    Hot weather operation

It's fargin' hot! I'd been riding the Spyder to work all week (swing shift, St Rose Pkwy to Las Vegas Blvd, 11 mile ride). I kept having to look at my right foot because I thought it was on fire. :bbq: Between the heat coming off the right radiator and the sun cooking from above it was...
