• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Instructions/Guides to get at the Spark Plugs and Injectors?

I don't have the service manual and would rather not shell out the $$ for this one minor repair so I was hoping that someone might have a video or guide for how to get at the plugs and injectors. I found a walkthrough for an RT but there is quite a bit of difference between the RT and an RS-S so...

2013 RSS SE5 won't start after winter storage

Well I syphoned all the gas and got some fresh Super and some injector cleaner and put that in and tried to start and it does the same thing, it will fire for about 2-3 seconds then dies and will not fire at all until it sits for another couple hours. I was putting off the plug surgery but now...

2013 RSS SE5 won't start after winter storage

Well it turns over pretty good, but it doesn't actually fire, it was running really rough for a few mins before it sputtered out and now it just whirs over and over and I can tell it's running the battery down so I quit doing that. I will probably throw a charger on it overnight before I flush...

2013 RSS SE5 won't start after winter storage

Well, I "exactly" did nothing, apparently including reading the manual that might have told me what to do prior to LT storage. Looks like I have some fuel to drain. I presume I probably also fouled the plugs since now it won't fire at all.

2013 RSS SE5 won't start after winter storage

Let it sit in our barn covered since end of August, had a full tank of super when I put it up. When I took it out yesterday it wouldn't idle and ran rough when I kept the trottle on. Took it for a short drive and it died any time I needed to stop or slow, or otherwise needed it to coast at...

    Vibe Dampening Grips

I wanted to add, that my grips are not heated and I would prefer to just remove the OEM grips instead of carving them up to fit the "clam shell" grips over them, that sounds like a real mess waiting to happen to me.

    Vibe Dampening Grips

I found a few posts for other models but I didn't know what differences there were for the RS models so I figured I would ask here. 2012 RS-S SE5 I need some new grips as the stock grips put my throttle hand to sleep pretty fast. If I went with the (very popular) Kury Grips, can anyone tell...

    Missing Air Dams

I just installed the Air Mgmt Kit, Air Dam, and heat shield, along with the Bumpskid. My RSS SE5 ran 5 bars constantly before and cooked my foot in traffic. Now it runs at 4 bars and drops down to 3 at speed, which I had never seen before. I am happy with the results for the $$ and feel more...

Any tricks or mods to cool an RSS SE5 a little?

I have to spend a lot of time crawling in rush hour traffic in the evenings and I have noticed that my bike crawls up to 5 bars REALLY fast and almost never drops back down. I have heard the fan running when I come to stop or turn it off so I know it's running, I have checked the coolant and...

New Spyder Owner, am I not a "cool kid"??

Thanks for the feedback guys. None of this effects how much FUN I have riding of course. Ironically I get the most attention form kids, teenage boys, and older women elbowing their grey bearded husband pointing me out as they pass. I play it all up and wave and give the "rock on" sign to all...

New Spyder Owner, am I not a "cool kid"??

I just got a 2012 RSS and love it! It is so fun and my wife loves being on the back with me. I have been a 2 wheel rider since I rode a scooter with a Briggs and Stratton lawnmower engine at 5yrs old but had to take 18 years off to be a dad. One of the cool things I fondly recalled about...

    Sypder Wheels

I don't know what the actual hole pattern is but I was thinking about looking at wheels for one of the new "mini" cars, like the Fiats or Smart Cars, I know there are some nice rims being made for those but I have no clue if the hole pattern or offset would be compatible. I am looking at tires...

    More aggressive position... drop bars?

I am currently evaluating if I can get a set of the "riser" adapters to work in the opposite direction. Then I think I will have to replace the rear passenger pegs with a solid peg so it doesn't just flip up with the lateral pressure of my foot pushing from the front, as opposed to down as they...

Advantages/Disadvantages of Auto or manual Transmissions?

Thanks to all the responses, I am really glad this is such an active forum! I have decided to go with the RS-S SE5, I pick it up tonight and I am pretty jazzed about the impending adventures. It's been a LONG time since I could hit the road on a bike and one of these seem like a great...

    More aggressive position... drop bars?

Unless something was specifically designed for the purpose I thought these with a little fiddling would do something like I am looking for and still allow me to "un-adjust" them pretty fast for longer casual road trips...

Advantages/Disadvantages of Auto or manual Transmissions?

I am considering buying an RS-S with the Auto/Paddle shifting system and Reverse but as all my experience to date has been with traditional manual shifting clutch systems I am a little nervous about going to this Auto transmission. Are there any known issues or problems that pop up with one...

    More aggressive position... drop bars?

I have seen allot of options for bar risers and road pegs that recline you more, but I have not seen any products or mods that allow you to adopt a more aggressive sitting position, something closer to a cafe/street fighter style position. Other than comfort considerations, is there a reason...
