• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    BajaRon Sway bar

I installed a BajaRon sway bar on my 2013 ST last weekend. I had a set of Fox adjustable shocks on it already but I can definitely say it made a huge difference. I bought the shocks and BRP sway bar kit a few weeks ago and installed them. The shocks were much much better than the stock shocks...

    Catalytic Converter

I gutted the ceramic honeycomb out of a cars cat a long time ago and although it worked quite well it had an annoying "pinging" sound from the exhaust expanding into basically an empty sheet metal can. I am not sure of the design of the spyders cat but that is definitely not the sound I want...

    Which BRP backrest?

Its around $600 for the "old" version once you add on the Sport Rack which is required to mount it. It is incredibly easy to remove for solo riding and attach again for two up. I have not tried the new style but I am pretty happy with the old one. Its certainly not RT back rest comfortable but...

2013 vs 2014: any real life facts/experiences from owners

No heat issues on my 2013 ST-SM5 yet other than a pretty warm left leg. Not severely uncomfortable but noticable. However I have only 605 miles on mine and the hottest temperature I've ridden in so far was about 70F. I have not had the updates done yet. Which is why its sitting grounded in the...

    Heat issue

Sounds like some ST's have some shielding and others don't. Glad I got one that did. Its not much but some is better than none. I put about 70 miles on her today and now I have 605 miles on the odometer, so she is ready for the break in service. Hopefully that helps even more with the firmware...

    New rider with Question

The kill switch importance is something thats covered in the "Basic Sidecar/Trike (S/TEP)" course. Some states require that you have an endorsement for trikes and sidecar equipped motorcycles to ride a Spyder like here in Washington, and the easiest and best way to get the endorsement is to take...

Fox Podium Shocks and BRP Sway Bar

Installed Fox shocks and the BRP sway bar on my 2013 ST-SM5 today. I was going to just install the shocks as I am getting a BajaRon sway bar for it, but after reading the instructions that came with the shocks (after I'd installed them of course) it said that the sway bar must be used with the...

    Heat issue

Tank wrap I've been thinking about getting some heat shielding for my gas tank on my new 2013 ST I got a couple weeks ago. I have not experienced gas boiling or anything other than an occasional little bit of gas odor at stop lights. But it sounded like a good idea anyway. So today I had to...

    New Spyder Owner

My wife had quite a bit of concern about flying off the back of my ST-SM5, and considering its acceleration it seemed a very valid concern. I looked into a few different back rest options and decided to go with the factory one as the others looked much less durable and not easily removable. So I...

    High pitched noise

From what I have read its the computer keeping the throttle plate completely closed for 40 minutes to aid in quicker hot starting. I assume this is to keep any existing gasoline from evaporating because of engine heat.

New ST Owner wondering about break in.

The salesman that sold me the bike had to go ask somebody how to put it in reverse lol. I didn't know either though, I had ridden one for 2 days when I took the motorcycle class for getting my 3 wheel and sidecar endorsement on my license, which is why I decided to get one instead of a sidecar...

New ST Owner wondering about break in.

It was the salesman that told me 100 miles, and the finance manager that told me about the valve adjustment at 3000 miles as we was trying to sell me a maintenance plan for $1800 to cover the first 15000 miles, which I didn't get. The service manager just told me he needed to wrap the brake...

New ST Owner wondering about break in.

I just got a new 2013 ST SM5 last week. I absolutely love it. I have read the manual and a lot of posts on the forum about the break in procedure. From what I've read it seems pretty simple, ride 600 miles and no hot rodding or lugging the engine, try to keep it between 4000 and 6500 RPM and...
