• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Considering the Spyder RT

I'm 67 and just went from a Victory Vision Tour to a 2014 RT Limited. Couldn't be happier. As others have opined, aging and strength factors -- not to mention the wife's bad knees -- led us to the trade. Hey, I loved the VVT but couldn't get my wife on comfortably and confidently. Now, we...

    Shout-out to Spyderpops

I would like to give a quick shout-out to the folks at Spyderpops who helped me with a problem (that wasn't even theirs to begin with). They are good folks and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them in the future.

    Foremost vs. Allstate

I recently moved FROM Foremost to Geico. In Kansas, Foremost simply was not price-competitive by a long-shot. I think rates differ from state-to-state. Need to shop around.

Tyre is only for Windows -- no Mac version available. But it sounds good!

    Google map and Garmin 660

Nothing seems to work now Not long ago, I was able to create a route in MapQuest and send to my Garmin 660. Now, it appears that MapQuest has removed that capability in the "Send" menu. I've spend more than two hours this afternoon exploring both Classic Google Maps and MapQuest, in Firefox...

How far did you travel to get your spyder?

Shortest route so far? My dealer is less than 2 miles from my home. Takes me about 5 minutes to get there!

    Disconnecting the seat piston

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll give that a try.

    Disconnecting the seat piston

This is so basic ... please bear with me. I just acquired a 2014 RT Limited and the dealership installed the BRP backrest upon delivery. The backrest sits me a little too straight up. From what I've been able to find out so far, the only way to get any backward/forward adjustment on the rest...

    Tire Air Pressure

And the choir says AMEN! Just went through that exercise for the first time this week. They couldn't have put the rear wheel valve stem in a more awkward-to-get-to place. I finally ended up with one of those 6-inch long straight nozzles with a built-in gauge. Even the spokes of the...

Yep. Mapquest makes it easy. Seems Google has an aversion to devices other than their own.

    SPYDER RT LTD Insurance

Weird how rates from a company vary so greatly from state to state. I had Foremost on my previous bike (because I have all my other insurance through Farmers and that's what they use for motorcycle ins.) When I asked my agent for a quote on my 2014 RT Limited, Foremost quoted about $550/year...

Ecm- replaced by BRP / vibration 63-73 mph

I've been following this vibration issue, too. I just noticed it so I haven't taken any steps yet to try and correct it. What if a combination of belt tensioner AND the grease-the-belt-teeth trick as others have suggested (in another thread) would be a winning combination?

    Baker Built Belt Tensioner

While the grease solution sounds plausible for curing the "plucking" of the belt humps out of the pulley, wouldn't it also be likely to attract more dirt/debris into the drive train causing other problems?

Drive belt vibration above 65 mph on 2014 RT

Me too I'm just three weeks into a 2014 Spyder RT Limited. I noticed the intermittent vibrations on a 50 mile trip today -- on good smooth highway. The sensation was kind of like running over really old, worn-out rumble strips on the highway before stop signs. I kept looking down at the...

1330 CAT delete for the RT

I, too, was considering an exhaust modification for more "character" in the sound. But after listening to a couple YouTube videos, IMHO it makes this lovely machine sound like the neighborhood kid's old Honda Civic with a fart-can muffler. Rather embarrassing. Let's face it, the 1330 does not...

Are highway pegs worth the expense?

Thanks for that tip. Do you know if there are any pictures floating around showing how they fit? Thanks.

Are highway pegs worth the expense?

I like highway pegs to stretch out my old knees/hips on longer rides. I return to the floorboards when slowing down, etc. However, the ones (that I could find online) that fit a 2014 Spyder RT don't offer much extension beyond the most-forward foot position on the floorboards. I tried putting...
