• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

With the second set we will see if it was luck or if I got the spyder with the correct front end set up. I wish I could do better with the rear!;)

    Front Tire wear !

I only get 8 to 10 k out of my rear tires but my front tire lasted 27,000 and was not at the wear bars. It seems that rapid wear must be an alignment issue and not part of the nature of the spyder.

    Maintenance costs?

The maintenance cost can be high and the frequency sometimes seem excessive but I am learning to do much of the maintenance myself. This has actually added to my enjoyment of the Spyder. My plan is to do the 3, 6 and 9k maintenance my self and letting the dealer do the 12k less the oil change...

    Question on pricing.

I paid $23,000 for my 2012 RT A&C sm5 this was out the door including tax. This was from Yamaha of Millington just north of Memphis. They don't charge any set up or freight or other add ons. I think the list at the time was about $23,995 plus tax I feel I got a fair deal.

    Adding ear buds

I have a 2010 RT AE, I would like to find a way to install a jack for my ear buds. I do not have any kind of communications nor do I need any on the spyder I would just like to use my ear buds with the existing radio. I do not have rear speakers and thought maybe the wires for them would be...

    Baker Air Wings & Cover

I have the Baker Air Wings and use the travel cover anytime I am on a trip, the cover works fine with them. If you ride in difficult weather you will love the Air Wings. I don't think the full cover will work but I have not tried it.

    Coating on drain plug

When I did my last oil change at 27,000 miles on my 2010 RT I had some black sludge like material on my gold plug magnets, both oil tank and engine. There were no shavings or particles just a smooth black coating of both magnets. I did the oil change at 3,600 miles and I use Amsoil 10-40...

    Gas can in saddlebag

I also have the Reda can it is well made, I agree with Scotty the fill spout is a problem. I carried thie Reda on a 6,000 mile and 4,000 mile trip west and never need it, now it sits at home. I have always found places to stop, I slurp and munch my way across the country.

What were you driving 40 years ago (1971)

Honda CL 350, loved that bike. I sold it in 74 or 75 after my daughter was born, on more bikes until 2010 Spyder RT.

LED or HID What you think?

When I was at Cowtown they installed a pair of Clearwater Glendas for me. The way they fit and work on the bike is really slick. They seem to fill in well for the stock headlights and make the bike very visible.

    RT-Performance

I just returned home from Cowtown today after getting the Stage 2 RT Performance kit installed on my 2010 RT A&C with over 26,000 miles. First everything that has been said about the great people and service at Cowtown is true. I had installed the 2011 shocks on my RT but was still looking for...
