• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP CanAm FREE 3-Wheel Course Opportunity

Florida only? Any idea why these are only in Florida, or are they offered in other states, too?

    June 6th...

Unimaginable sacrifice I watched a couple of excellent documentaries (Military Channel or History Channel) a couple of years ago about the landing and spent pretty much the whole time in tears. It was unfathomable what those guys went through, and obviously, not just at Normandy. Sometimes they...

    Parking lot safety

After reading the current thread "Parking Lot Maneuvers" and all the threads/posts about hostility from some bike riders, as a newbie, I was wondering if things like this happen often. Vandalism and nastiness, I mean, just because we dare to be different. Personally, just being a generally...

    Handlebar RAM mount.

Possible alternative I know this isn't what you're asking for, but just as an alternative, I have an older Nuvi 550 that I had mounted with a Ram handlebar mount on a 2-wheeler. I didn't want to shell out the bucks for a built-in GPS for my new/old 2012 RT, so I tried the RAM suction mount...

Do You MInd, If I Play Through?

About 20 mph, from what I've seen on TV. At any rate, they can outrun a human, but only for short distances. Or so they say. . . . "Depends what the meaning of 'short' is.":yikes:

    New rider/

Hints from another noob From one noob to another, I definitely recommend reading the Do's and Don'ts, especially the part on when to shift (a total revelation to me). And if you didn't get the DVDs with the Spyder, watch the 3 safety films (parts 1 to 3) from BRP on You Tube. They tell you...

    Tilt!

Thanks for the input, but. . . I can't go elsewhere to ride, because this is where I live. I'll change that eventually (not a native here), but not just yet. I know what you're talking about, though. I bought my Spyder used, so, other than the obvious Seal floorboards, I don't know...

    Tilt!

:duh:OK, here's another off-the-wall, probably totally dumb newbie question. I've started riding some of the back roads here in central VA, and I noticed something I never noticed in my car: they TILT! I'm not talking camber (if that's the right term; higher in the middle for drainage), but...

    Spydercodes question

Thanks! That did it. If you get a chance sometime, it would be useful to be able to delete single entries in case of mistakes like mine without having to redo or lose the whole table. But then again, I'm probably the only one who does dumb things like that.:banghead: :gaah: Thanks again for a...

    Spydercodes question

Newbie question. I downloaded the Spydercodes app (thanks; looks really great:2thumbs:), and I'm trying to use the fuel part of it. I made a couple of mistakes entering data the first time:opps:, and now I have two wrong entries that are screwing up the calculation of mpg. Is there any way to...

    Air compressors/tire inflators

Thanks! Thanks for all the good suggestions. I may have to get more than one.;):dg2:

    Air compressors/tire inflators

Thanks! Sounds like a plan. I'll look into the shop air compressors. There are some good brands on Amazon, but I'll go to Lowes first and see them in person.

    Air compressors/tire inflators

I like to put air in my tires at home, and I just tried it for the first time on my "new" 2012 RTS. No problem with the Spyder, but i found that my old combo jump starter/inflator doesn't do well with it. I only needed about 2 psi, and the gauge isn't clear enough to show such a small amount...

    First highway ride; still grinning

:D I know what you mean (now). I think I'm going to go to the grocery a lot more often. Can you put a bowling ball (in a bag) in the frunk?

ANOTHER noob plus some dumb questions

Here are a couple of photos. I'm going to put flags on the trunk, but I have to wait for my Bike Barn to arrive because the cover won't fit over the flag poles and it keeps raining here. The floorboards were on it already; I'm pretty sure they're Seal boards, and I love them. They make it easier...

    First highway ride; still grinning

I went for a short (unfortunately) ride at highway speed for the first time just now, and all I can say is  WOW! This wasn't the freeway, just a regular road, but WOW! I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it was so much more enjoyable than riding at that speed on my little Harley...

ANOTHER noob plus some dumb questions

I just bought a 2012 RTS SE5, and I'm getting used to her. Love her so far. I discovered this site, and I'm glad I did. Read the Dos and Don'ts and found out I was shifting WAY too early based on cars and my rather limited 2-wheel experience. I'm trying to get used to the high RPMs, but it'll...
