• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Front Suspension Upgrades - Which First?

Thank you very much for that link - great info! One of the dealers near Denver does laser alignments, but I think to the BRP specs, which doesn't sound like what I'd need. Might have to do a road trip to get it done. Gee, another excuse to go for a long Spyder ryde ... ;)

RT Front Suspension Upgrades - Which First?

I have a 2017 RT-S, and am trying to decide priority for some upgrades. I'm not a particularly "sporty" rider, and I would be happy enough with the stock suspension as far as handling in the curves and twistys goes. My issue is how my Spyder deals with broken and uneven road surfaces (about the...

    This is belt vibration, right?

A lot of good information in this thread, thank you all. I've followed Peter's advice to carefully check out the tires for defects, nothing obviously wrong that I am able to detect. I have set pressures to the specifications in the manual for a 2017 RT (20 psi front, 28 rear). At this point...

    This is belt vibration, right?

Thank you Peter, for a very informative reply. I have checked (and corrected) the pressures, but it didn't occur to me to carefully check out the tires in the way you describe (was making what I see are unjustified assumptions that the almost-new OEM tires would be fine except for pressure). I...

    This is belt vibration, right?

In the process of putting the first few hundred miles on my 2017 RT. I've noticed an odd vibration that starts around 70 mph and smooths out at just over 80 mph. (Unfortunately, the maximum speed limit around here is 75 mph, so "outrunning" the vibration zone isn't a long term solution.) This...

    New Owner

We stay as far away from cat herders as possible!;) Actually, my user name started as a family joke. Way back in the mists of time, when the Internet was a new thing, my nephew and son had pet rats. I needed a handle for an online forum I was on in those days, and they provided inspiration...

    New Owner

A while back I posted about problems during a test ride - had control issues due to two-wheel habits. As several folks suggested, the BRP-sponsored "Learn to Ride" course was a huge help - 3-4 hours on a training range with a Spyder (and no traffic) made a big difference. Today I rode home on...

Spyder is REALLY different - tried test ride, barely made it out of the dealer's lot

Actually, moved to Denver four months ago from Virginia. Spent nearly all my life in places where you got snow maybe twice a year, and 4 inches was a huge, world-ending blizzard. So I've some excuse on the no-snowmobile front. I've less excuse about never having been on an ATV. Just never got to...

Spyder is REALLY different - tried test ride, barely made it out of the dealer's lot

Oh, I did, indeed. My first time on a MC was on a dirt bike on my cousin's farm - rather a better newbie environment than downtown Denver... I'm thinking I might give one of those Can-Am "learn to ride" classes a try. Figure out the basic operating procedures in a more controlled environment.

Spyder is REALLY different - tried test ride, barely made it out of the dealer's lot

Well, I suppose that makes sense. You probably won't be surprised to hear that I've never been on either an ATV or a snowmobile in my life.

Spyder is REALLY different - tried test ride, barely made it out of the dealer's lot

A (very nice and helpful) local dealer let me take a 2017 RT for a test ride today. I barely out of the parking lot before having to call it off. Unfortunately, I found that I'm profoundly unsafe riding a Spyder. (Note that I'm not saying the *Spyder* is unsafe, just that *I* can't seem to...

Newbie Questions (RT Riding Position, F3 Cruise Control)

Thanks all for the advice and information. Have arranged for a test ride on the 2017 RT next week; will have to see if I can get a ride on an F3 as well.

Newbie Questions (RT Riding Position, F3 Cruise Control)

Good Day folks, New to the forum. I'm another 60-ish motorcyclist looking at the Spyder - in my case, because I think it'll be easier on my beat-up arthritic body than my Versys. I'd been looking at the 2018 base model F3, which has everything I really want except cruise control (and a color...
