• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Limp Mode

You sure no other idiot lights came on? My Sypder RT-S went into limp home mode yesterday for the second time, with 238 miles on the clock (picked it up weekend before last). First time, DPS and engine light. This time, DPS, engine and VSS light. The first time it cleared and didn't come...

    DPS issue

So... my RT-S threw DPS/engine/VSS codes again yesterday, and went into limp home mode. Drove back at <45 mph for five miles. 238 miles on the odometer.

    DPS issue

I added another 130 miles with no recurrence of the problem. I talked to the tech at my local shop. He said (accurately) that there have been lots of problems with DPS issues with Spyders. He put them in two categories: 1) warning lights that can be corrected by a software update; and 2)...

    DPS issue

I'm not sure. It stumbled, seemed to lose power. I had to pull across a lane to the shoulder, as I was afraid I was going to come to a stop in the middle of the highway (a big thank you to the pickup that ran up my ass while I was trying to do this), but by the time I got there the power had...

    DPS issue

Thanks all - took it for another ride, still no problems. But, I've had issues with intermittent codes on other bikes before so I guess I'll wait and see - though I'll definitely bring it up with the dealer.

    DPS issue

So, the good news and the bad news: 1) I got my Spyder RT-S (limited edition). I'd ordered an audio and convenience, but the shop kindly upgraded me to the ltd edition at no additional cost 2) The bad news. About 100 miles on the odometer the bike threw a code while running at about 50...

    Amtrak Autotrain

Does anyone know if Amtrak will take Spyders (my Dad and I each have a Spyder RT due for delivery in April) on the Autotrain between Lorton, VA and Sanford, FL? Thanks, Ben

    Spyder newbie - belt tension

Scotty - your post got me thinking - perhaps I hadn't loosened it enough. Sure enough, that was it. I had to loosen it a lot more than I expected before the axle would move in its slot. Thanks a lot for your help!

    Spyder newbie - belt tension

I did. Axle covers off, removed the cotter pin, and loosened the axle nut (I tried various degrees of looseness). I can adjust the screws, I just can't seem to reduce tension - only increase it. If I loosen the screws any further, the end caps would rattle loose. Which I don't think the...

    Spyder newbie - belt tension

Hi - just got a Spyder a few months ago. I do all the work on my HD, and have just (about) finished the 600 mile service on the Spyder. However, I've run into a problem on belt tension, specifically. Belt alignment doesn't seem too difficult, but belt tension does. I've reviewed the...
