• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Keeping mice out!

That would be the best defense but I'd be sleeping in the shed (dog house) if Chipmunks were collateral damage :opps: Do you know if the intake horn for the air box has a coarse screen or mesh to prevent entry? If not I wonder if the opening is large enough to attach a mesh of some sort over it...

    Keeping mice out!

During the warm weather months I will be parking the Sypder at the cottage in a shed. I've had a hell of a time with mice infestations with my motorbikes. They seem to love building nests in the air cleaners. The first time I discovered this I'd started the bike to let it warm up and just as I...

    I can't help myself

I understand where you're coming from and I'm there with you. Having fun on the Spyder for me is about riding not driving or touring. Riding is about the exhilaration of safely pushing it within the limits of your skill level and the capabilities of the machine when the road and traffic...

Can't get enough cable slack - Installing Custom Dynamics Risers

Final update Managed to complete the Custom Dynamics riser install on the Spyder this weekend. I left about 30mm on the bars to use for ram mounts etc. I mounted my GPS to the right end and seems to look OK. There is barely enough slack in the hydraulic clutch line. I watch it stretch and hear...

    insuring a new Spyder

You're all lucky in the US. Motorcycle insurance in Canada is an outrageously expensive rip off considering most of the roads are covered with ice and snow for 5 months of the year. I can't find anything less than $900 a year. They'll probably want another 30+% more for the 1330 Rotax.

Can't get enough cable slack - Installing Custom Dynamics Risers

You described that perfectly. The 'U' loupe with the cable tie that you access from the right side is what I cut. That relieved the needed slack. You know, I don't why Custom Dynamics doesn't include this kind of info in their instructions. Yes it's going to look more complicated but that...

Can't get enough cable slack - Installing Custom Dynamics Risers

Great tip! Just for an update on my progress. It was nice and warm in the garage today. Thanks NancysToys for the tip on removing Y cover ahead of the seat. That gave me the access to the cable tie to relieve enough slack for the left switch gear housing to get steering lock. I’ll attempt...

Can't get enough cable slack - Installing Custom Dynamics Risers

Good to know Mr. Goat. I was hoping I could gain access through the frunk on the upper part. That area looks easy enough to remove the tupperware and is close to where the cables route from the cluster. I thought about removing the plastic surround but my lazy nature had me thinking about...

Can't get enough cable slack - Installing Custom Dynamics Risers

I'm going to have to stew on this all week until I have the time to get out in the garage on the weekend when it only costs a small fortune to heat when compared to week days. Electric heat has got to go! mcaccamise - I hope I don't need to ask you what happened to your signal light wiring...

Can't get enough cable slack - Installing Custom Dynamics Risers

Thanks to all for the advice. I have the instrument cluster off are per instructions and I can see the left side electrical cable routed as described previously. There are no visible ties looking down through the cluster. So if there is going to be any slack obtained it seems like I will need...

Can't get enough cable slack - Installing Custom Dynamics Risers

I'm hoping someone on here has had experience installing Custom Dynamics risers on a 2012 RSS. I got some 4.5 Inch Custom Dynamics Easy Risers for our 2012 Spyder RSS. Has anyone out there installed these risers on a recent RS model Spyder. I can't seem to get enough slack on the left bar...

    Anyone riding with Helibars riser?

I just purchased a set of risers from Custom Dynamics for a 2012 RSS and was interested in your comment regarding the reservoir making contact with something forcing the brake lever skywards. I'm trying to picture what the issue would have been and if I should be concerned with my upcoming install.

Custom Dynamics Risers open bar end solution?

I'm interested in the mod you did to the bike lift with the Spyder on it. Did you post anything about that before. If not I like to get your thoughts on how well it works. I see that HandyLift has adapted their lift to support the Sypder but I don't know if I can wait to put the pennies...

Custom Dynamics Risers open bar end solution?

Thanks. I was planning to re-use/replace the stock bar end on the grips as per instructions. Even so there still remains holes in the cut-off bar and where the riser fastens to the grip bars.
