• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone else put down a deposit without seeing it???

I did the same thing, had to buy out of state, now Reno has a dealer. But my local dealer quoted November delivery times, doesn't have anything for service, doesn't even know what the 1st service entails. I'll make the 150 mile trip back to CA for my first service very soon now. They were good...

    Backrest and Rack

Too True - I ride solo, but if we are going 2-up, I insist on a passenger backrest. I see KewlMetal is looking to develop one and I know Corbin's on it. I may just tell them the heck with it, give me my money back!

    Communication systems

I haven't gone bike to bike yet, but will have that soon. We started with Chatterbox Rider to Passenger and then switched to Autocomm. Much better sound. I'll let you know how the Autocom setup goes. Bought the harness off of Ebay for the Spyder, just need to get the rest organized.

    Laughlin River Run 2008

As posted previously, we're going down on Friday, staying in Boulder City. Laughlin on Saturday and home on Sunday from Reno. Would also like to meet up. It's our first time, but my Harley friends have been before. Riding via Mammoth Lakes to meet up with our group. If anyone has an idea for...

    Backrest and Rack

I still don't have my backrest, sport rack or the wheel trim rings. I know that they have changed the design, but the delivery date continues to move on me, consistently back. Has anyone rec'd any of these items recently? I threw a fit with the dealer and the regional BRP rep. The original rack...

    Turn Signals

That's a good harness setup. Now if I can just find the bulb. It's not a standard 1157 or 1156. We may have to rewire a new housing in the turn signal.

    Turn Signals

I like that option also, as soon as I get the turn signals integrated, that's next. The bulb in the turn signal is a Phillips bulb, but no one in the States has a cross reference for a red one. Need to keep the watts down - I think its 10w. If anyone knows where to find that, I'd love a heads up.

    Laughlin River Run

We are going from Reno, via Mammoth Lakes. I talked to a Spyder rep at our new local dealer on Friday and he thought the AZ/So Cal rep might be there. We'll be in Laughlin on Saturday only. Check out the website: www.laughlinriverrun.com My friends who have gone in previous years say there are...

    Turn Signals

Thanks for all the responses. I thought the BMW lights were very similar too. (we have an R1150R) I found a Kuryaken harness conversion for metric bikes and a red led bulb. BRP shows all the male/female terminals. Hubby is going to see if all the pieces are available. I will pass on all your...

    Turn Signals

That's right - the HD has a harness to make the turns into brake lights too! ALso includes red lenses to change the turn signals. But I'll check out the kit Ken offers.

    Turn Signals

Has anyone tried changing the rear turn signals to dual turn signals and brake? We have done that change on a couple of bikes and it really helps the visibility from the rear. You would need to change the lenses to red and have a harness to connect with the brake light. Any thoughts?

    Wifes Spyder is here

:congrats: That's where I got mine in Feb. They had gotten more in than expected at that time too! Some of the May's were moved up. Shawn told me some of the extras were other dealers unsold allotments. I'm sure your wife will love it, I sure feel good on mine. None of the issues I had on two...

    Another Y type cycle !

You know - I think that is one of the most popular comments I hear, how affordable the Spyder is. Most people are shocked (in a good way) by the pricing!

Drilling a hole in your key?

I wish there was a hole in the key too. When you use the key, then you need a place to store the sheath, got to put them back together when you're finished, etc. I always put mine in my coat pocket, but with gloves, etc. it's not always the easiest thing to do in a hurry. I'm pretty sure the...

    driving in snow?

If it takes as long to get the tires as it is to get the backrest, rack and wheel trim, I might be able to use them next winter. ;D

    driving in snow?

We took the Spyder out as a break from the last round of shoveling a little over a week ago. Traction requires a slow start, but the ABS kicked in fine. Our street gets no plow and no sand. Check it out!
