• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2010 Recall

My 2010 RT is in for the windshield bracket and I asked about the recall. I was told the part is not coming in for about a week. Guess it has lasted for two years now so another week won't hurt.

    2010 Recall

Just read that the 2010 RT will get a recall for the brakes, apparently a pin could come off and a complete brake failure could occur. Letter going out today.

What about the 2010 RT's ?? Do they have issues with throttle bodies or are they built differently?

    Vibration in handlebars at idle

Vibration 3000/4000 rpms Just a short note here about engine vibes at those rpms as mentioned. I installed the belt tensioner from Capt Jim and found that it smoothened my Spyder out. The long belt seems to tighten on the top and loosen on the bottom under load and the tensioner prevents the...

Fuel Economy - is anyone getting better?

I to need a pit stop to empty fluid and refill fluid, so even if and when BRP puts a larger lower revving engine in our beloved Spyders, then I will still stop for fill ups more than my friends do.

    RT SWAY BAR

I have had my Evo sway bar on for almost two years of driving and no problems. But and I say but, I did not find enough of a difference then the OEM bar so I went to the Elkas and now there is a huge difference. Day and night doesn't exprese it good enough. Elka shocks is all that is needed, no...

    Lamonts right side heat fix

Thanks for the info. Yes, my plan is to cut and fit a piece of aluminium and paint it black to seal up that lower opening. The top will allow the heat out and that is ok for now. I have my feet just in front of the lower opening on my highway pegs and it gets hot down there.

    Grill for lower right side

I to am looking to block the lower opening to and I checked out this site but a fancy grill will still allow the heat out. Looks like I will go Lamont style and cut one of my wife's cookie sheets.

    Lamonts right side heat fix

Lower right opening? Just wondering here if the lower opening can be blocked? I see the top can be filled but no mention of the lower right side opening?

    My Relaxed Pegs

I made them myself after seeing the same thing by someone else but I did it slightly different. I would not recommend it without the Elkas because the Spyder sits to low without. I came up with this setup just by putting my legs strait down in front of my oem pegs while driving and that was the...

    My Relaxed Pegs

Not yeti I have not added the hand brake. Well at least not yet. I only put my legs down to the lower position to relieve my discomfort and some times I just stretch my foot forward leaving my heal on the oem peg and my toe on the lower hyway peg. I am very conscious of the fact my foot is away...

    My Relaxed Pegs

One year later I have put lots of miles on my highway pegs with no problems. I still need to block the lower right side opening to stop the heat. I can stretch my legs down without putting then way outboard of the bike. It helps get me comfortable. I have lots of ground clearence because of my...

    OIL LEAKS?

Valve Cover I had my valve cover gasket replaced (rear) at the 12,000 mile service. It did not drip and my airbox had very little oil in it I was told and I keep my level at the top. No other leaks yet!

2010 RT reliability and other questions.

An interesting read, Yes the Spyder is not perfect but it sure is fun to drive! Mine has had a few glitches taken care of by my Great Dealer and I am satisfied with it and him. I do hope that BRP are learning as time passes! My lower windshield bracket it cracked and I will get it replaced in...

Anecdotal evidence that the RT has more problems than the RS?

Age So true about those who ride the RT verses the sporty RS. I Guess I am one of those! Comfort is paramount for me and younger people more likely to be on two wheels, hence lower sales on RS models.
