• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery Powered vs Bike Powered Heated Gloves

Gerbing Agree on Gerbing. Lost 2 fingers on my right hand years ago and those two stubs get VERY cold. Gerbing made a special glove for me at no extra charge. Had me lay my hand on a piece of paper and draw around it. Made a glove to fit nearly perfectly. Wife and I both have Gerbing jacket...

Another heat issue recall success story!

My 2013 and wife's 2014 RT's They definitely fit on the '014 (my wife's '014 has them), and work just as well on it as they do on my '013.

    2014 hea issues

Wifes' '014 had the same problem No where near as bad as on my '013 and after the fix on mine we had the same air scops installed on her bike. Problem fixed! Really don't understand why BRP isn't putting them on every RT from this point out.

How to hook up heated clothing

For the rider use a Panel Mounting Kit. (EDITED TO ADD old Pat number ACPMKT - THE middle cable shown on their site isn't the BMW cable it's a coiled cord or it should be because that's what came with both of mine). For the passenger install a power socket back near (below the right side)...

    No more heat

Had mine done on Friday and was amazed at how cool the glove box and front of seat area are now. Plus the right foot heat, which is now not only less but divided between both right and left side vents. My wife has an '014 RT and these areas on mine are even cooler than on hers now. Wonder if...

    fuel tank size

Totally agree with you on that one. My '013 seldom shows full after a fill up and even when it does drops to 3/4 after a mile or so. Whereas my wifes '014 has a pretty accruate fuel guage.

    What recall?

Dropped my '013 off yesterday for the 9,400 mile service and before I could say anything the service manager pulled out the recall letter and read it to me. Said they'd call me when parts are available and set up an appointment for me.

    2013 RT Recall

Got my letter last Friday. Now we wait. Have the heat problem as well, especially in the seat. That has to be fixed!

    My new 2013 RTS-SE 5

Pretty new here too, although had been reading boards for a while I know what you mean. Road Valkyrie's for 17+ years. Had a '97 with 137,000+ miles on it. Thought you couldn't kill the bike until I totaled it 2 years ago. Also had a '01 Wing for 2 years and traded it in on another '03...

Our 2 Spyder's Odometers aren't accurate, but the Trip meters are - anyone else notice?

The '014 is getting a new speedo cluster due to condensation behind the plastic but seeing as both bikes act the same (two different year models), I'm doubtful that's the problem. Kind of believe their all doing this. At least the last couple of years worth. But how? How can the trip...

Our 2 Spyder's Odometers aren't accurate, but the Trip meters are - anyone else notice?

At least on our's there is very little difference in MPH between the two bikes. Set speed control at 65 on both and the '014 has to be bumped down a mph every now and then and then bumped back up to keep up so difference is well under 1 mph, at least a 65 mph.

Our 2 Spyder's Odometers aren't accurate, but the Trip meters are - anyone else notice?

Thought of that, even though both indicate miles. The difference works out to about 20%. Not 40%. Miles clicking off on the odometer are not consistent to any distance traveled or seemingly speed related. Mile to Mile the odometer will click off a mile on both Spyders anywhere from .6 up to 1.3...

Our 2 Spyder's Odometers aren't accurate, but the Trip meters are - anyone else notice?

I can't even figure out how you could possible program a digital read out to be this inconsistent. It's literally off by up to 1/2 mile from mile to mile. And on both bikes. And speed doesn't seem to be the problem. One mile will click off on the odometer at a .6 of a mile on the trip tick and...

Our 2 Spyder's Odometers aren't accurate, but the Trip meters are - anyone else notice?

You may want to check it out. They are so inaccurate just mile to mile it's astonishing and the 6100 miles I thought I got on my first rear time may have actually been less than 5,000 plus over a few years of riding and what you may believe is 50,000 miles may actually be less than 40,000 at...

Our 2 Spyder's Odometers aren't accurate, but the Trip meters are - anyone else notice?

Wondering if anyone lease has noticed this. At that rate her bike and possibly both bikes along with who knows how many others are piling up none existence miles at an astonishing rate. A bike with 5,000 miles actually only has 4,000 miles on it. Depreciating the value of the bike.

Our 2 Spyder's Odometers aren't accurate, but the Trip meters are - anyone else notice?

I have an '013 RTS and my wife has a '014 RTL and on both bikes the trip meters are very accurate. Like with in .1 of a mile over a 5 mile interstate check. But also on both bikes the odometer milage reading isn't even close to being accurate. The miles clicking off will vary from .6 of a mile...
