• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    brake foot

Will try that method tonight. I think I'm thinking too much about it.. I drove the way I want to pratice tonight, and realized that I do slow down about the same I did on Charlotte, so although I know I am being cautious, I am not being overly so. Talk to you guys soon - thanks again for...

    brake foot

Thank you! Will definitely try the outward movement. I think I was moving towards that during the straightways. The road I am practicing on does not have many straight parts. It's more of 50 feet of straight, then curve, then straight for another couple of yards, and curve the next part...

    brake foot

Hi everyone! Have a dumb question about the brake foot.. I rode for about 30 minutes to an hour yesterday (you lose track of time, don't you?), and realized on the way back that my foot was tense/sore. I am holding my foot at a wierd angle the whole time - heel sitting on the back peg, so...

    She's here!!!!!

Thanks - Unfortunately I do not have any parking lots or such around, just a couple of major twisty curvy roads. I'm in the hill country. The closest parking lot is 16 miles one way, or 17 miles away the other. Highway 16 is the only way to get to either one. I can go on the highway...

Texas Trail Restaurant - Hico, TX

My husband considers himself an expert of Texas bbq; he knows a couple of places you might consider. Have you ever tried Saltlick? Great place (for me, it's too far on too fast superslabs so far) to visit. I can ask him if he could put together a list/map that can be a wish list..

    Anyone live in Bandera County?

Anyone live in Bandera County? I'm fairly near the Bandera/Medina County line. What I think would be helpful if a fellow Spyder rode with me, before I take to the highway (16) - the only way I can get into town (whether it be Pipe Creek, or Helotes). For you help, I can cook up some steaks...

    She's here!!!!!

cool, thanks!! Thank you so much! You answered every single question, and I feel so much better. I think a couple more days of playing on the back roads, I'll feel better about taking her out on the busier roads. I live in the hill country of Texas. My road (if I take the evil hill) butts...

    some baby questions...

What if you tend to keep it in 1st or 2nd? The back roads make it impossible to go faster than 25 (I don't even go faster in my cage).

    Insurance questions...

think I'll make my decision tomorrow.. Since I am ryding her now, I think I'd better get something fast... The most expensive is Progressive, the least is Geico. But I don't think they are all oranges. I guess, logically, I cannot ryde her to work (60 miles round trip) without some...

    Manual vs. Automatic

a thought from a newbie.. Just my opinion, and I will admit I am a newbie to the Spyder race... The 'automatic' gives you one less thing to worry about. It will not let you up shift until it is ready (you can press the + all you want, but until it hits the right rpm, it will stay where it...

    She's here!!!!!

Thanks all! Now, some new questions... Thank you to all, I appreciate this forum so much! Now, that I have ridden her around (15 miles today, not bad), I have some 'new' questions. I am hoping this helps the other newbies as well. 1) The area I live in is very hilly, with twists and...

    Insurance

Thanks! I'm in Bandera county, and this is what I found out so far.. without uninsured.. Geico - $564 MRA - 570 Progressive - 440 (with uninsured, it's 880) Markel - $810 I have to call State Farm and Allstate, so I'll probably do that on Monday.

    She's here!!!!!

She's here!!!!!! Kelley and Ken brought the Spyder to the house (I think they enjoyed our hill). After signing all the paperwork and giving them the down payment we agreed upon, they left (storms are a brewing here). I started her up, and drove up the road and back. OMG! She is...

    Insurance questions...

I will check them out, thanks. I live in Bandera Country (Pipe Creek) - seems we are neighbors.. You said no PIP or un..motorist - does that mean you're out of luck if an uninsured person hits you? I'm not that familiar with what is advisable to have. My cars are insured with USAA, but they...
