• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Whistling visors-- better helmet suggestions?

I wear a simple black helmet, no visor. It has nice ear flaps that keep the majority of the wind out of my ears (but I can still hear road noises). I can't seem to find a helmet that I can keep on for any length of time. I have a beautiful blue open visor (3/4 coverage?), and I have wore...

HUSBAND RIDING B_ _ CH IN MAGGIE VALLEY?

2 things... 1) I'm trying to get my wonderful husband on his own :spyder2:. He's never ridden before, but he has ridden mine up and down the road (up to the mailbox and back - about half a mile total). I want him to get a RT (he is 6'6" and about 350 lbs). He wants to practice on mine, but...

    Heat help??!!!!

Which three, may I ask? I had their website up earlier, and plan on calling my dealership (to see if they can install). The ones on the website that I was interested is were the Air Mgmt System, the heat shield and the missing air dam. Are those the three you purchased? Last Thursday I...

Why are you going to the Owners Event in Maggie Valley?

Would love to go... I would love to go, and meet everyone in person. It is so far away (it's about five to 7 hours just to get out of my state)... It's hard to pass up a bbq that has been talked about - and the location sounds wonderful. Maybe in the future, I can meet up with people. I...

    And the Journey Begins...

Very easy on the eyes! I love looking at the two-wheelers, and I am so drawn to them. I've never had the nerve to actually ride one though - I haven't figured out the gears/clutch thingie. Even when I took my motorcycle class, I was put on a scooter (my ride at the time was a Piaggio MP3, and...

    Heat and a whine.

wow - we were at the same party (great hamburgers!), and didn't even know it. Some of the bikes there were awesome! Meetings like that always makes my wish list grow quickly! I'll see you on Meetup, and hopefully in person soon. :doorag:

    Heat and a whine.

Unless it is a merlot. Seriously - I have nothing to worry about? It's just that I hear it only during the 4,000 rpm range. I thought about taking her to the shop (and I will when I order the SyperPops goodies/they come in) - it's a 100 mile roundway trip to go there (which is a nice ride...

    Heat and a whine.

Thanks! I think the left side wrapping worked, because I only get the heat on the right. I'll call the dealership on Monday and see if I buy the Spyderpop stuff, they would install it. I don't know enough to do it myself. Yet. I trust STS to do the work. I haven't gotten up the nerve...

    Modifcations

Can you tell me more about the SpyderPops heat shield? I have added a water bottle holder (left side of the handlebars) - nice to be able to grab a drink at stop lights and such. I agree to the handlebar riser, as it is easier on the wrists. I just added wrapping to the left side of the...

    What footwear do you use?

Do the Crocs get hot? I've been wearing tennis shoes, and I thought my feet would melt last Thursday. I do not like southern Texas summers.;)

    Spyder Sightings

Two in town Last Sunday (or was it the weekend before?), Joe and I were coming back into Bandera after running errands, and saw two bykes parked on the right side of the road, with a HD next to it. We stopped and I was going to leave a note on the bikes. The owner of the HD came up to put...

    Heat and a whine.

Hi guys - sorry I fell off the face of the earth! It's good to be back (been way too busy with work and school). It was 99 degrees yesterday and I was wondering about heat coming off the byke. I seriously thought my right shoe was going to melt. I had to take my foot away - tucked it back...

    First Tattoo

I love your byke carrier/trailer! I'm trying to trade in my old trailer (used for my Piaggio MP3) and get one a little wider. Beautiful tattoo!

    Hand gesture.

When riding in the hill country of Texas (where I live), everyone hand signals. If they don't, I think it's because some of the curves are hard at the higher speeds - they are concentrating on the ride. I watched a sports bike take one of the curves a bit too fast, and wiped the concrete...

    Spyder Sightings

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of ryding with two other Spyders. Cheryl has a red one, with a stabilizer on her handlebars, and a juice box. She has a little over 5,000 miles on her Spyder. Mark was the other ryder, also a red one, with 8,000 miles on his. His mods included a panel...
