• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tell your story. What was the moment you knew you had to have a Spyder?

I rode a MP3-Piaggio for awhile (cute scooters), but when I started having mechanical problems, I sold it back to Vespa via the lemon laws. I didn't like being without a ride, but wasn't sure what I wanted. On Highway 16, there is a place where people can put things for sale and one day (2009)...

Tell your story. What was the moment you knew you had to have a Spyder?

Wonderful story! The only question I have for you is ... why haven't you been down to Texas yet? We have some wonderful roads - come on down, and I'll show you the Twisted Sisters (three awesome roads).

    Long Distance Riding

I haven't been on for awhile (was having issues with posting, and been super busy)... Question - I am very interested in doing a saddlesore (the first step in being an Iron Butt member). I have the standard seat on my 2012 RSS. Do you think this is possible (the 1000 miles in 24 hours) with...

    She won't start

How do you kick start? I will take all the suggestions and work on her in the morning - thank you to all! I'm not sure how to get at the battery, but have the manual online. I already promised the bike that I would ride her more in the upcoming year. I got some cold weather gear now. Thanks...

    She won't start

Okay, killer switch was off (I turned it on, to show my husband the difference). The battery is fine, as far as I can tell - we put a 'trickle' on the bike for 30 minutes today, but there was no difference. Joe has a indicator that you attach to the posts, and it registered full (12 volts)...

    She won't start

Help! Today was a super day - warm (in the upper 40's) and no rain in the forecast. I bundle up and go out, but my baby won't start. Unfortunately, the dealership is closed for the holidays, so I am turning to you guys for help. When I press the start key, I get one turn, like it is trying to...

    Loop 1604 (San Antonio)

I love it out here - my drive/ryde to work every day is from outside Bandera, to near Seaworld (about 30 miles). I get passed a lot, but I'm comfortable with the ride. You are just going to have to come visit!

I've asked that question, and the common answer is "oh, Spyders do that." Good luck!

    Spyders in the news

great article I love the part of " orange cones were flattened as the police officers practiced..." $40,000 each for all the goodies (cameria, LED lights, radar detectors, etc). Wow.

    Cross country trip...

I'm not ready for this, but do you think the RS would perform as well? I would like to ride up to Flatonia (about 1.5 hours in a cage). There is a frontage road for some of the ride, but not all, so I will have to get on the highway. :doorag:

HUSBAND RIDING B_ _ CH IN MAGGIE VALLEY?

I'm sorry! I thought you did not have to. They were giving a class a couple of months back (motorcycle class) for Spyders, and they gave out the information that it was voluntary because the "M" was not mandatory. :opps:

    Loop 1604 (San Antonio)

I haven't been on the highways at all (I don't count highway 16). I've been up to 70 at one stretch of 16, but for the most part, I've only done 60 to 65, and I slow down to 50 to 55 on the curves. I need to get comfortable with riding on faster roads. I was told that 1604 would give me that...

HUSBAND RIDING B_ _ CH IN MAGGIE VALLEY?

As far as I know, you don't have to have the "M" on your license in Texas. I have one because I used to ride with less wheels. Personally, I think it's good to have that extra training - but I'm glad I did the 'box' with two wheels! I don't think we can do it on a Spyder...

    Spyder Sightings

RT spotted! I saw a silver RT riding on Culebra (under 1604 interchange). Unfortunately, I was in the cross traffic - busy, busy traffic. I don't think he (she?) saw me - the RT was moving, and I was stopped at the light. First time I saw a RT in motion - very nice!

    Loop 1604 (San Antonio)

I want to practice higher speeds, and I was told a good place to practice would be 1604. I think I can do this, but I thought having someone with me might make it easier (especially when the road gets really busy (near the I-35 interchange, for example). I ride highway 16 alot (I live off the...

    Where is this?

Not sure where it is, but it's a beautiful picture! I might have to go look - I live in the hill country (outside Bandera). I love to ride on the weekends. To go to work, I 'have' to ride down highway 16, into San Antonio - 30 miles or so of hill country and back roads, until I hit the outer...
