• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    25 MPG

Wonder no more! RPM's or speed is what controls the MPG! Take an under 50 speed tank trip and you will see the difference from the normal everyday 70 MPH trip on the interstate. That is why vehicle manufacturers give a city and highway reading with most vehicles too. Stop and go city driving...

    CB antenna replacement update

By the way using a new kind of locktite than I used last time and screwing the regular long radio antenna back on with it, it has not loosened up after three short rides. So far so good, went with the red locktite instead of the blue thread locker and the radio seems to have normal reception so...

    Trading RT's

It read just fine to me with my 66 year old eyes and no glasses on. It is the same old thing a man taken advantage of by a company that doesn't give a hoot for a customer and is letting an untrained technician try and fix something that is too dang complicated. They are too dang busy introducing...

    Trading RT's

I figure BuRP's very appropriate name for a company that makes products that fairly eat gas and explains things wrong with hot air and so much gas! ;) Bill

    Trading RT's

My 2008 RS ate three oil pressure sending units in the two years I owned it and went into limp more times than I can remember. Each time I managed to get it out and it went back to the dealer and another oil pressure sending unit went into it from the what the computer told the technician. It...

How can you pass a PA roadtest on a spyder

WV asks you to schedule your test with other trike riders knowing there in no way the Spyder will make it through the weaver using cones like the 2 wheelers do. When you call to schedule they give you a choice of dates and you pick when. It is a road test and they follow in a van, took about 10...

    Radio antennae service bulletin

Seems like every time I check mine, which is often, it is again loose. Wonder if locktite would help and also not hinder the efficiency of it to receive a signal? Worth a try anyway I guess! Bill :gaah:

    Spyder-In-A-Box

It isn't a Harley! It doesn't handle like a motorcycle but it sure gets this old man out in the wind (with the windsheild down) and even with the poor gas mileage I do admit to enjoying it! Good Luck and Good Riding! Bill ;)

    Bouncing Fuel Gauge

OK I went for a ride today with the trailer on and a fairly full tank of fuel. The guage bounced all over the place. I tried taking the trike out of trailer mode and it still bounced all over the place. I have no idea why it didn't do that when last trailered but it now bounces crazily and this...

    Region Preference

Don't feel alone! :gaah: I am having trouble getting presets into the space between two already presets? I did the same as you and decided to wait till some night when I will not rip the console off the trike. Funny too as I have been so proud of myself in realtion to my patience with BuRP...

    Insurance Rates

There are so many variables in the way insurance companies figure rates and coverages it would drive a sane man crazy. State to state, location in the state, age, previous accidents (although they will not admit to it and by the way they care not whose fault it is they only know it was a claim...

    Limp Home Message

My 2008 SE-5 ate 3 oil pressure switches during the time I owned it and dropped me in Oregon on a cross country trip with the nearest dealer being 125 miles back over the mountains and the dealer having exactly two weeks experience on Can Ams. The other altnernate deallers was 500 miles ahead...

    RT Clearance

The three wheeled concept is apparently hard for me to grasp? The very first day I had the bike I went down the drive on it after trailering it home. I live in the country so I am quite used to seeing roadkill from bear to deer and every creature in between. My driveway is gravel and quite...

    A thought about the trailer

I believe the screen with the two pictures only appears when you want to change while running the trike. If you are trying to find it when turned off I believe it is not available. Not trying to be critical but it would seem you need to read the owners manual and if it is possible (which at my...

    Bouncing Fuel Gauge

Just a bit of really confusing info for you. If the trailer is on and the trike is in trailer mode the gage is rock solid and doesn't bounce around? Figure that one out. With a low tank today I put the trike into trailer mode without the trailer on and the fuel gage was pretty solid. Now to test...

    replacing the gas gauge

OK I tried putting the trike into trailer mode without the trailer being there and with a low fuel level the guage is fairly solid and doesn't bounce around a lot. I still need to try it with a fuller tank though so the answer is not complete yet. That won't be until next week as I am busy all...

    A thought about the trailer

Yupper the RT-S doesn't know when the trailer is there or not and yes thus far I have to put the darn thing into trailer mode everytime I stop for fuel or anything. That sure is an oversight on their part in the programming. Today because I noticed the gas guage doesn't bounce all over the place...

    Top Speed?

I had the old 2008 SE-5 up to 125 on the interstate one day and there was more left if I cared to try it but I wisely backed off as there was a cop coming the other way when I rounded the corner. It was on a stretch of highway with no one in sight either way. I have not had the RT over 100 yet...

    seat heat up problem

Previous owned RS model burned my left leg so bad I wrapped the pipes from the cylinder till they went downward and away from me. When I had problems with the pipes running white and running hot out west a dealer said it was because I wrapped the pipes, next dealer said it was the extra alcohol...

    Rear Suspension problems

The airbag would heat up while you are riding it and the pressure would increase from friction and use. It could be leaking slightly and because of this increase from use it could be undetectable. I suspect highly this is what is happening. The previous model spyer I had the rear shock was...
