• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A lot of people engaging in "high risk" behavior, like motorcycling, think it is ok so long as you do it only to the degree that they feel is "safe enough"? Amazing how some know how much risk is OK for everybody else. Then they turn to "I would have to pay for it" to justify? Shouldn't they...

Now you are putting words into my mouth. I wear a helmet. But it is my choice. Even if I didn't, it is not me that is making anyone else pay for that choice. Look to the liberal government and supporters thereof. They want to take care of everyone, but then they want to tell everyone how to...

I take that as a compliment. How selfish of you to think the world revolves around you.

Isn't it awfully selfish of you to be concerned with how much it could cost you if he gets hurt? Pot, meet kettle.

Your appeals to logic are false. The issue is not one of making anyone pay, the issue is you don't get to dictate my behavior. You can try, but good luck with that. Choice of wearing a helmet or not....mine. Go ahead make me. My insurer, employer, government, even God, cannot make it...

Not really. There may be legal complications, but anybody can make their own decisions. I wear my helmet because I think it is a good idea, not as a favor to anyone else. Try as hard as you like, you can't make everyone else play by your rules. Even God gave people the ability to make...

Actually, it is exclusively your own business, and it is exclusively the business of the insurance company whether or not they want to offer you coverage. At least it should be. Members of the "pool" have every right to look elsewhere for coverage if they disagree. See how easy that works...

I had a similar occurrence on a moped when I was 15. Of course, I had no helmet. The docs were amazed that I made it through as well as I did. The moped had a plexi windshield on it as well. I was wearing a leather jacket too. I flew through the windshield, over the vehicle (a 70's dodge...

    .....and I carry.

So do I, the wife noticed that some years back. On a cloudy Saturday morning she saw me looking at the sky and said "You're going shooting". When I hesitated a moment she clarified with "It wasn't a question, you have had a long week and are acting crabby. A morning out shooting always...

    On the road again...

Busy all weekend, so I didn't get out. Thinking of making the ride into work tonight, looking at 29 in the morning right around the ride home. I rode at least once every month excepting February. So long as we had two clear days to get the salt off the roads, I headed out for at least a half...

    New Member ?'s about RT's

I think everyone is fairly agreed on this one. 2012 is the best model prior to the 14's. Seems like they bit off a bit much in the 13's and ran into some issues.

    $&&*=#% snow!!

This has been one long hard winter. Still, the only month that I didn't get in at least one riding day was February. Got in quite a few nice riding days this month, just had to watch out for those killer potholes. Not many people think it is a nice riding day at 34 degrees, but why not? If...

    He got payback

It was in Florida, in the rain, there were trucks in the right lane, she had a left turn coming up, he had already made some illegal moves like passing a truck in the left turn lane, and she decided it was a good idea to get video in case he tried anything to endanger her. At least that is what...

    My new DYI exhaust

Very cool. I did something similar, using a 100 dollar ebay pipe and a 20 dollar SUV resonator. I'm very happy with mine as well.

FYI on my RT's Top Speed

I have been up to 112 on the expressway, I weigh about 200 these days. Had to pass a few semi trucks and decided it was a good time to see what it would do. Riding two up with 120 pounds of wife aboard, we made 103, just to try it. I don't typically wring it out to those levels, but...

    Chilly Ride

I haven't been out in almost 2 weeks. Of course it is 23 degrees outside right now, with 8 inches of snow. Two weeks ago there were clear roads and mid-30's. I love thinsulate. I had thought about a shorter windshield, but the height is welcome this time of year.
