• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    What's your Spyder's Top Speed?

The F4 Phantom was proof that if you put a big enough engine on a brick you can do Mach 2.

I've added an Upgrade to my Oak Floorboards!

Now that is sharp! I think I might have gone with a darker finish, or maybe one of those colored stains to coordinate with the color of the bike itself, but it does look great as it sits. The diamond plate isn't overbearing like I see it in some of the steel floorboards out there. Are you...

    Cruise Control question...

at 45 mph in 5th gear it probably is rpm related. I usually run around town at 45-50 mph in 3rd gear.

    Belt tension and the Krikit

Just wondering, wouldn't the best way to check belt tension be with the normal load on the spyder, just like with headlight aiming? Either that, or with a straight line drawn through both pulleys and the swing arm pivot, for max tension?

    Ryding after dark

My first motorized two-wheeler was a Solex, the old single cylinder that was friction drive to the front wheel. The magneto fed the tiny front light, even revving down the road a bic lighter probably put out better light. At idle, what light? My RT-S has plenty of light for me.

    Semiauto RTL 2012

Whenever RPM drops to around 2500 the spyder SE5 automatically selects the next lower gear. Still, if you know you are going to need the lower gear, no reason not to downshift into it yourself.

    Swerving.. Spyder or human error?

That is scary!! Where I bought mine they have plenty of watercraft and four wheelers (they are a "marine" sales/service by name) but easily had 10 spyders on the floor, and sitting out on their lawn drawing attention. There were '12's and '13's available in all three styles and a few different...

    After-market Exhaust on 2013 Models

I have a flea-bay purchase coming my way, supposedly for a 2013 rs. From the pics it appears to be set up the same as my 2012 rt-s. I am optimistic, but a little work won't bother me. I have heard good things about the Yoshi pipes.

    Exhaust

Not certain, but start by checking the style of piping you have. If your cat is located right under the pegs in front of the tire, and you have the 2 bolt flange right there, it is very possible. I have one coming, it was listed as being for a 2013 rs, but I am hoping it will also work on my...

    Swerving.. Spyder or human error?

Yeah right.....a suspension like the spyders, and no adjustment? I guess all those screw in links and rod ends and ball joints just get screwed in until they "feel right", the suspension is designed to work around it? Not a chance.

    new lazer alingment

The rear wheel can also be offset from the vehicle center line. Not likely to be done on a spyder, but on many Harley two wheelers the rear wheel is purposely offset from the centerline to account for engine weights. This allows the rider to go down the street without having to lean off to...

What not to say to a cop

When one is running like the wind to make it back in time for PT, has out of state plates, and is caught doing nearly 40 over, you are not in a position to argue. I wasn't complaining a bit.

“The truth doesn't have versions, it just is.”

electric fences don't have much current running through them, high voltage at low amperage provides a nice shock but isn't designed to be lethal. The third rail is designed to power a train system, and as such has to provide a lot of current.
