• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Junk in the Frunk

I just hid a $25 prepaid Visa for the day when I drive a tank of gas out and realize I've left my wallet at home. That 6 gallon tank is a killer.

    This looks familiar (12V Socket)

My frunk has the hole in it with a rubber plug. So no need to cut it. Just need to get behind it and either find the wires or fish new ones.

    This looks familiar (12V Socket)

How hard was it to find the back of the hole? I got down there this morning and it looks like a bear to get up in there without lifting the bike.

    This looks familiar (12V Socket)

http://dx.com/p/youliang-yd-diy-water-resistant-motorcycle-modification-car-cigarette-lighter-socket-black-229735 I order from them some times -- might be worth picking one of these up to see if it fits. I have the liner in the frunk and I don't see any provision in it for exposing the wire...

    Junk in the Frunk

Oh well, maybe not an original topic, but lots of replies! Thanks. I do have my insurance card in there too -- forgot about it. Tonight I put a Stick and Click light in the trunk with some Velcro so I can (barely) light up and see what's in there.

    Junk in the Frunk

Ok, so what kind of stuff do you "must have" in your frunk/trunk? Here's what I have so far: Small flashlight Hairbrush (her) Baseball cap (me) 2x Garbage bags (cover seat/heads in the rain) Dual USB outlet Bluetooth receiver (hooks up to USB outlet and 3.5mm cable in trunk -- works great)...

    Thanks all.

    Overheating after killing the engine

I have noticed it before, but it only runs for like 20 or 30 seconds at the most. I didn't notice either way tonight because I wasn't expecting any trouble.

    Overheating after killing the engine

Another dumb new guy question. We went out and rode 20 or 30 miles tonight. Typically blistering hot Houston day/night. I have been running my 2013 RT-S (SE5) up at the 4000 to 5000 RPM range as suggested (and it does seem to make a big difference). It also makes your feet get hotter. When we...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

I wish I had read this about a week ago! I am surprised this isn't stickied. Great tips -- I sat in the highway for 20 minutes with a dead engine in 1st gear and apparently didn't step on the brake! Finally figured it out, but man was that tense. Thanks for this list.

Stupid Question: No Right Hand Grille?

Well, like I said I did look at the parts manual and saw there was no grille -- but the 360 view on the website clearly shows a grille there, so that's why I asked. Thanks!

Stupid Question: No Right Hand Grille?

Thanks. The German link just took me to some portal, I didn't find the actual post. From the pic though it looks like some plastic surgery was in order. I noticed the grille is cheap enough (as is speaker grilles which I already bought a pair). Thanks for the info.

Stupid Question: No Right Hand Grille?

I've noticed you can see the fan in the right hand side from the driver's seat pretty clearly. Tonight my wife said, "How come there's not a grille over that like on the other side?" So I looked on the 360 view on the CAN AM site - Sure looks like there is a grille. So I go look at the parts...

    RAM Mount on RT Handlebars

I am looking to do something like this, but I want to use stainless instead of nylon. It seems impossible to find small quantities of metric spacers in stainless with an OD>13mm here in the states. I was wondering if an M10 nut would work as well? They are about 8mm tall. Maybe with a washer or...

    Bluetooth

Is there a pin out for this somewhere? I am still juggling my options on hooking up all the gear but I'm actually more comfortable with a soldering iron than a socket wrench ;-)

UPDATE!!! BEST warranty information from Bert's Mega Mall

I just bought a 2013 RT-S and I've been thinking about doing this. Reading the text file, it sounds like you get a $200 limit and a $50 deduct per occurrence (except road side assist which I get from my insurer anyway). So how does that work? Is it $200 payout limit or $200 limit total (which...
