• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Air box leaking oil?

Our RTS leaks a puddle of oil after every ride and I think it's coming from the drain tube in the center just behind the front wheels. I'm assuming this tube is from the airbox. Am I correct? If so, has BRP come up with a solution to fix this? It is very annoying to have it dropping these...

    Lifter noise??

Hi folks... I have just noticed a new noise when our RT-S is first started up. It sounds like the lifters have no oil at all. It's quite a racket, noticable from several yards. My wife actually asked what that noise is when she was standing nearby. It only lasts a second or two, so I believe...

    Corbin heated seat... auto shutoff?

Thanks Lamont. Apparently, mine isn't working as I left my switch on after a ride last week and one day later, the battery was drained.

    Corbin heated seat... auto shutoff?

Does anyone with this seat know if it's supposed to have an auto shutoff feature to prevent dead batteries? I bought this RTS used and the first owner had the seat installed. He told me it's supposed to shutoff 20 min after engine is off. Was he misinformed? I would be very disappointed to...

    Help... dead RT-S

I also have a cigarette plug in the glove compartment. I plug a float (maintenance) charger into that one, but only when it's not being ridden for long periods. In this case though, I don't think a maintenance charger would have kept up with the current draw of a seat heater element.

    Help... dead RT-S

Turns out it's just dumbass owner error :gaah: Nothing to do with the gauges being unplugged... the heater on the Corbin seat was left on. So, I'm definitely going to correct that situation from happening again. I thought the first owner told me that it had circuitry that shuts off power to...

    Help... dead RT-S

I just had it a the dealer a few weeks ago because the analog tach was intermittently not working. They said it was due to a loose battery cable, so I just assumed they checked all of them, but maybe not. I did notice the tach was not working again the other day for a little while. I think...

    Help... dead RT-S

I agree with you about the connectors not being able to short to anything. Otherwise, if I thought there was any chance of it happening, I would have wrapped them with electrical tape. Not sure what you mean by "bag battery ground"? A typo maybe?

    Help... dead RT-S

I was going to ride the spyder to work this morning, but when I turned the key on, there was absolutely nothing... no display or anything. The only thing I can think that may be the cause is just before I rode it two days ago I unplugged the two gauges to get the more accurate bar graphs on the...

    Multiple issues with 2010 RT

I also had an issue with my RTS of the analog tach not working. The dealer said it was because of a loose battery cable. Make sure they have checked that. That could cause multiple problems.

    Very frustrating weekend

Lamont, I've had two experiences very similar to yours with my Kawi Vulcan. Both have been when it's cold outside (below freezing) and my garage is not heated, so the bike was very cold. It would crank over OK, but just wouldn't pop off. The first time it happened, I knew I had flooded it, so I...

Charging the RTS through 12 volt outlet

Sears has a maintenance (float) charger for around $20. It's the DieHard 71219. I just picked up another one on sale for $17. It comes with a cigarette lighter plug. Russ

    Tires For RTs only

According to micfitz, no clearance issue other than turning the wire clips attached to the inside fender support to the side so the tire doesn't rub them.

    What Was Your First Motorcycle?

First ride was a mini-bike (Montgomery Wards, I think). Then a 69 Yamaha 60 Enduro, a 75 Yamaha 175 Enduro (first brand new bike). Then I quit riding for 25 years and got back into it in 03 buying a new Kawi Vulcan 800. Now, I have an 07 Vulcan 2000 LT to ride while my wife rides the Spyder. Russ

    DPS Recall Poll

I'm waiting until the weather gets to the point of "no good for riding", which, here in northern Illinois, should be soon. I wanted to give my dealer the opportunity to get a few of these jobs under their belts before taking ours in. I need to have them look at the instrument cluster (tach...
