• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Reflective Spider decals

Got one spider mounted on the rear fender and one mounted on the front trunk lid. They look nice, to me, and will also add additional reflectivity in an artful way.

Check your oil! Mine was Low after Pre-delivery, dealer doesn't care...

Checked my oil yesterday and it was fine. Tire pressure was also OK. It's nice to be lucky once in a while.

    Reflective Spider decals

Got some spiders for my Spyder today and hope to get them installed tomorrow. I plan to put a spider on each front wheel mudflap for starters.

    Do you miss the lean?

The Spyder's ride reminds me of a sidecar since it does not lean. But, in actuality, it is much easier to ride than a sidecar since the drive wheel is centered and it has two wheels that steer. I have more confidence with 3 wheels. Wet leaves or gravel in a curve are not the same concern as on 2...

Who has their Spyder and who's still waiting?

Got about 350 miles on Premiere Edition #538 and enjoying it a whole lot. It certainly helps to have had years of experience piloting a sidecar. Can't understand the reasoning behind omitting the handbrake, however, unless they expected a majority of purchasers to come without previous...

    Spyder Highway Pegs All done

Thanks, Lamonster. My legs and knees thank you, especially. Can't wait to get a set mounted on #538 for a cross-country tour.

    Spyder Highway Pegs All done

These look great. I need a set of these brackets. After you get through moving them around, consider a small production run. Thanks, billclemen - Premiere Edition #538

    Turning Heads on the Spyder

Let's get some reports about interest being shown in the Spyder. Today, I turned into the parking lot of my favorite burger joint and a guy had followed me in and went over the Spyder and asked questions: How fast? I don't know, it has a 6,000 RPM limit during break-in. How big is the gas tank...

Re: Left Side Highway peg is done EDIT- Both sides done

Re: Left Side Highway peg is done That looks great! Keep us posted. Are you going to make any for sale? #538

Went for a little ride and puked some antifreeze

I will take a look at my tank tomorrow before leaving for a 150 mile ride. Thanks for the writeup. So far, my only complaint is that I need lower pegs and a higher seat to moderate the bend for my knees. With other motorcycles I have always been able to take care of this without too much trouble...

    Ergonomics

Where do you think the highway pegs would best fit? Highway pegs would make lowering the existing pegs a lower priority since I could shift leg positions from time to time. Keep me posted. I have a V-Strom 1000 parked next to the Spyder. The VStrom has lowered pegs. Would be terrific if those...

    Ergonomics

Because of wretched blood circulation in my legs, I need to be careful about the knee bend angles. Since I have put 100 miles on my new yellow spider, I know that this is an issue for me. In the next week or so I plan on figuring out a way to lower the footpegs 1.5 inches and perhaps move them...

Lamonster Review of the BRP Can-Am Spyder

I pycked up my yellow Spyder today (in SoCal) and it was #538!

Took delivery of a yellow (fast color!) Spyder today!

Rode it the few miles to my home from the dealer and it felt really solid and good. Since I am an old sidecarist leaning toward the inside of a turn is second nature. The Spyder, by way of contrast to a sidecar, is much more centered and the braking seems easier. Can't wait for my first trip --...

When did you order your Spyder?

I ordered my Spyder today, 11/25/07, at Bert's after a test ride. Very enjoyable. Does not compare to either a motorcycle or a sidecar, but is in a league of its own. Ordered the yellow color because of the heightened visibility. Now, my only decisions are which current bikes will I need to sell...

    Tire Mileage?

That is impressive and should put my mind at ease since any coast to coast tour would be much less than those numbers.

    Tire Mileage?

I am a coast to coast tourer and would like to know about the tire mileage once folks get enough miles ridden to really see what a good average expectancy would be. At this point I am a little concerned about tire replacement since some dealers might not sell enough Spyders to keep a stock of...
