• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Moderately Priced Rain Gear

Rented a bike recently on a trip and wanted some inexpensive rain gear. Went to Walmart and they had FrogToggs Lite's in the Sporting Goods for $20. Never had to use them so don't know how they would hold up to riding, but they were cheap and easy to find.

    Extended Warranty in Florida

Thanks, I was hoping things had changed, but guess not.

    Extended Warranty in Florida

When I bought my Spyder in 2010 I was told the Best Warranty was not available in Florida. Is this still true? I did purchase a third party warranty through my dealer that would reimburse me for the cost of repairs, and wonder if this is still the only option available to Florida residents...

    Humm Lets try this again..

Thanks Chris, Cindy and Forrest. Had a great time at lunch, we need to get the group together more often. And yes, we love the Wing.

    Bye Spyder

I was halfway between Memphis and Jackson. Was told by another SpyderLovers member that Jackson was a small shop with one tech and I'd be better off in Memphis. So we towed the bike to Memphis where they spent two days analyzing the problem and found they would not be able to get to it for a...

    Bye Spyder

I last rode a Honda trike about 10 years ago, and it was horrible. I was shocked when I rode a new one. Very easy to steer, very solid, a lot of power, corners very well, just a great ride. I will probably change the OEM seat, like I did on the Spyder, but even with the stock seat it's a very...

    Bye Spyder

    Bye Spyder

After my Spyder left us stranded in central Mississippi and had to be shipped back to Tampa, I just couldn't trust is for long trips. So, yesterday I left the Spyder world and joined the Goldwing trike world. We owned an 02 GW, and this 2013 brings back a lot of fond memories. I hadn't riden a...

    Thoughts on my new Spyder

Since my 2010 blew it's transmission linkage on the way to SpyderFest, and has cost me about $2K to get it, and us, back home, I've been thinking about getting a 2013. Appreciate your insights. My 2010 is set up perfectly, with the anti-sway bar, Elka shocks, Corbin seat, accessory stop/running...

    Bike just died!

I have an extended warranty so I don't anticipate a problem. Did they ever determine what caused the problem with the shaft? Do you still ride the bike?

    Bike just died!

Spyder is down for the count. A transmission shaft is stripped and will be a major repair. Rented a full size pick-up and put the trailer on it to haul it back to Florida. Have arranged for a shipper to pick up the bike next week and deliver it to Motorsports of Tampa. We are leaving this...

FANTASTIC SERVICE AND SUPPORT WHILE STRANDED

Thanks for the wonderful comments. It is very stressful, but I am amazed at how well we have been treated by everyone, from the Enterprise car rental (who also went out of their way to help us), to FRS, to Motorsports of Tampa (my dealer, who put me in touch with a shipper that didn't rip me...

FANTASTIC SERVICE AND SUPPORT WHILE STRANDED

On my way to Spyderfest my bike died in Winona, MS. Had it towed to FRS Powersports on Whitten Road in Memphis, TN. Denny Spears immediately went to work on the bike. After hours of searching he determined that it was a major transmission problem, and he wouldn't be able to get to it for a...

    Bike just died!

Tried all suggestions, no luck, also no error codes. Guess I'm in for an expensive tow. The bike has 100 free miles of towing, but AAA claims the trailer isn't covered. AAA has been terrible. I bought the Plus Motorcycle option, but that doesn't cover a motorcycle in all areas, only Florida...

    Bike just died!

Thanks Scotty. I have restarted it, no change, it's also loked in gear, won't return to neutral.

    Bike just died!

Got a motel for the night, went out to eat, riding back the throttle quit working. Engine ran fine, just doesn't rev. It seems like a throttle problem. My real problem is that I'm in Winona, MS and the closest dealer is in Memphis, 117 miles away. Anyone know of something I might try to get...

Heads up for Florida riders heading for SpyderFest

Just a heads-up. Bring warm clothes. It gets pretty chilly as you head north. We're in Atlanta for 2 days, and we find it cold. Left Valdosta this morning and it was in the high 40's and low 50's, and took a long time to warm up.

    We leave in the morning

Hey John, were you on Rt 301? We went through Ocala on 301, not I-75. Don't remember hearing a horn. Be sure to bring warm clothes. We're in Atlanta tonight and it's cold (at least by Tampa standards). Have a safe trip. (Sis just reminded me that we did hear your horn, didn't know it was...
