• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Myrtle Beach bike week

Haven't made it down to Red Line yet. Weather is too rainy and we don't have rain gear yet or experience riding in rain. Keep your fingers crossed that we make it down there.

    Smokey Mountain Spyder Rally???

Blacklightning, thanks once again for the info. We haven't been to Pigeon Forge for 34 years either I think. I don't remember if hubby and I did that then. We probably did. Saw Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for the first time in the early 1970s camping with my parents. I'm sure it's changed.

    Smokey Mountain Spyder Rally???

We have plenty of time to think on where to stay. We want to do the train in Bryson City while in the area. We also want to go over the mountains to Gatlinburg. We haven't been there in 34 years (BK--before kids). We did Asheville in August. We were glad we took the truck (a last minute...

    Spyder in the Smokies

Thanks everyone for your ideas about Tail of the Dragon. My husband is the one who will be driving. I'm just along for the ride. I did the Google map street view and it does look like a pretty ride that I will mostly be able to watch. I did see some areas to pull over. Do you have much...

    Smokey Mountain Spyder Rally???

Blacklightning, do you think that hotel would allow a truck and trailer to stay in the parking lot? Do you know how large their parking lot is? Thanks.

    Spyder in the Smokies

Pwm, what would be your top speed on tail of the dragon for most of the turns? I saw it on Google maps, the street view. It is curvy.

    Hilton Head, SC

We will probably ride down to Red Line, using 90 over to Conway and then down. I like that ride from our house, not much traffic, pretty scenery and hardly any red lights.

    Spyder in the Smokies

We have just learned about the Tail of the Dragon. We've only lived in the Carolinas for 7 years and so this area we are still learning about. Also, we have had our Spyder for 4 months. I had never even sat on a motorcycle until we bought it. Any advice on doing the Tail of the Dragon on a...

    Smokey Mountain Spyder Rally???

We are thinking of going to the Smoky Mountains in the Spring. We are debating on making it a 2 day ride out there or using a trailer and hauling it with the truck. If we do that we will park the truck and trailer and ride around. Any advice? Do you think a cabin with lots of parking space...

We're glad we tried Hilton Head, but we are partial to Myrtle Beach.

    Can-Am luggage

FYI everyone, we have an old heavy duty duffle bag. It is 12 x 12 x 20 inches. If you stand it up on it's side inside the 2015 Spyder front compartment, it just about fits.

    Hilton Head, SC

We only rode through Charleston this time. We did our first long day trip a month after we bought our Spyder, riding down to Charleston. We have owned it for 4 months now. I had never even sat on a motorcycle until then. We live north of Myrtle Beach and south of Wilmington, where we bought it.

    Hilton Head, SC

FYI, if you are on your Spyder in Hilton Head and want to see Harbor Town or Sea Pines, not only do they charge $6 to get into that area, but they don't allow motorcycles of any kind. The only way around this is maybe to rent a bicycle and take that in. I guess they allow bicycles. It doesn't...

Spyder Rally Myrtle Beach May 2016

Glad to hear of this since we live between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach!!! We can head down to Red Line across from the outlets on 501, since they are the Spyder dealers in the area.

    Spyder Sightings

Saw the white Spyder again. This time around 3:00 PM in front of Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach.

    Myrtle Beach bike week

We have a 2015 dark red spyder. Nothing to distinguish us otherwise, except NC tags.

    Myrtle Beach bike week

Anyone heading to Myrtle Beach for bike week? We bought our Spyder in May. I had never even sat on a motorcycle until then. Anyway, we may head over to Red Line on 501 sometime during that week .

    Touring w/o a Trailer

You're going to laugh, and this is a little off subject, but my husband plays golf and he straps his clubs (with cover over the top) to the back seat of our RT. He uses bungie cords. So I guess you can use just about any kind of bag as long as you tie it down tight.

    North Carolina Spyders

Making the decision to ride or not in rain

Any suggestions or things to watch out for riding in Key West? We were there in January, months before buying the Spyder. We may go back some day. Thanks.
