• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Spyder in PA

My wife had similar issues that needed to be addressed, to make her SM5 more comfortable. Risers, and Corbin seat seem to have made a big difference. Also, as others have mentioned, if your Spyder has the little stock windshield, changing that out for something else will help with the high...

    Best Warranty Question

We never buy extended service plans or warrantees... but since the Spyder is a different beast and being a fairly new machine, we did get the BEST. Got it through Bert's as others have suggested. Would have gotten it through our local dealer but the Berts had a significantly better price...

    Insurance

Geico. $250 deductible. I tee-boned a deer on my Harley and my wife got rear ended by a car. Both times, the Geico rep was at our place to estimate damages within 24 hrs.... the estimates were very accurate and we got paid quickly.

Anti-lock brake sensor with Smuggler trunk?

OK, got it. I ended up just shoving the sensor inside the tail panel. I'll Velcro it in there tonight when the spousal unit gets home.

Anti-lock brake sensor with Smuggler trunk?

OK.. I've searched and read. Do I take the sensor out of the stock seat, and just plug it in then lay it under the smuggler trunk? Maybe a little Velcro to keep it from sliding around.

R.I.P. Spyder 2683 up in flames

Man, that sucks! Glad to see you didn't fry with it. However... I'd let my insurance company handle the claim and I would immediatly go to the NHTSA website and file a report as this is a safety issue. If there's a pattern here, NHTSA is there to make sure there's a remedy.

DPS recall not being taken too seriously

We'll wait for the letter from BRP, then we'll make sure the parts are in stock... get an apointment... and THEN the Spyder will go to the shop. My fear of having ANY bike in the shop while waiting on parts for any period of time is someone accidently bumping into it or dropping something on...

    DPS Recall in PDF form

For ANY safety defect, you should be filing a complaint with the NHTSA http://www.safercar.gov/ If they get enough complaints, they'll investigate. I'd think vehicles catching on fire comes under the 'safety defect' catagory!

    Anti-Vib with Kewl Metal Risers??

I just got the BRP bar weights / caps, and considered shortening them.. looked like they were slightly too large OD to fit into the Kewl Metal bars. Could have been the grip end ID was seeing. I'll pull a grip and see if they fit. Question is.. are the shortened grips still adequate enough to...
