• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What seat do you like the best and why?

I went with the Ultimate tall boy with the fuel door and no back rest. It gives me better support and my butt doesn't hurt. Granted the factory seat had 20k miles on it and the foam was pretty soft. I'm 6'0" ant the "tall boy" sits me farther back and I am more upright. But the hard part is you...

    ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS ISSUE

My 2010 RT does the same thing. I told my neighbor it was my back-up alarm and he thought it was cool.

Tell me your bug stories, I know you got one

Yes sir! Tahkli Royal Thai AFB. Used to to hang out at the "UFO" and Tahkli Gardens . (Among other places) I used to get a kick out of the two A-37's the Thais used as bombers. They were a little bigger than the rice bugs but not by much :roflblack: I really miss good Khao Phat!! Also the "B"...

Tell me your bug stories, I know you got one

They get over three inches long. They live in rice paddies and attack fish and small animals. They have two large grasping front legs and a nasty 1/3 inch long proboscis that they are too willing to thrust into whatever they grab. In the area where I was, the locals would eat them thus the...

Tell me your bug stories, I know you got one

I hear ya Bruiser! I have been smacked a couple of times by those rice bugs (flying monsters more like it) I was in SE Asia working F-111's and at night after a normal downpour they came out by the hundreds and headed directly to our light alls. They would smack anything in their way. They sound...

    Wanting better suspension advice

Thanks for the valuable advice! Great people here for sure  I ordered up a BajaRon sway bar and I'm going to get a full set of the Elka stage 1+R shocks. I hope it all comes with instructions. I'm a pretty good mechanic but with no experience with a Spyder I err towards caution. We...

    Wanting better suspension advice

I have a 2010 Spyder RT with almost 20k miles. I think it is time to get replacement front shocks and springs. I have ordered a new sway bar (thanks Bajaron) but I'm afraid that the old OEM shocks and springs just won't do the new sway bar justice. I fall into the XXL size being 6'0" and ummm...

    Noob experiencing front end wobble.

Wobble found! I purchased a digital tire pressure gauge because my standard stick gauge just isn't easy to read when checking tire pressures. Using the new gauge allowed me to discover that my front tires had unequal pressures: 17psi right vs 15psi left. I pressurized the right to match the left...

    Noob experiencing front end wobble.

Thanks Navy Warrant, but here in California where I live all the roads (for the most part) are paved. Even though they are paved the asphalt gets softer in the heat of summer and the tractor tread leaves nice ripples and bumps all over. But you are right to be cautious because there are rocks...

    Noob experiencing front end wobble.

Yes, Blueknight911, I bought it from a dealer. I did a test ride but to tell you the truth I was terrified! The last time I rode (6 years ago) on a Honda Goldwing I had an accident that required two surgeries and my shattered jaw to be wired shut for 6 weeks. But I had I to ride again so I...

    Noob experiencing front end wobble.

Could be ABS. That explanation would fit because I was out on farm roads and they can be like washboards sometimes. I'll try a few well maintained roads and do some panic stops and other variations. Probably just me overreacting. I'll also check the tire pressures. I just had a new rear tire...

20,000 yes it is stock. The only non stock item is a luggage rack on the rear trunk lid.

    Noob experiencing front end wobble.

Thanks I'm an experienced mechanic worked on everything from jet airplanes, cars, diesel busses and everything I'm between. I've given my spyder a good check out and all the front components are tight and no play at all. My guess is it may have a slight alignment problem. I'm going to do a...

    Noob experiencing front end wobble.

Hello to all! First off I'm definitely a new rider, I picked up a nice 2010 Spyder RTS a couple weeks back and put on about 70 miles so far. I have read hundreds of posts on how to ryde my new toy. Thank you, thank you! The posts were exactly what I needed. I think my grips may have permanent...
