• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Day Twentyone Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Got to sleep in this morning, Yeh! Since we had such a short distance to go today thought it might be nice to make a lazy day out of it. Stopped at Buckshot Bettys for breakfast (great food) before getting underway for Destruction Bay. The ride 110 miles was a series of "whoopty dos" through the...

Day Twenty Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Left Tok after a great breakfast at Fast Eddys, introduced our wives to the giant cinnamon buns, they are still great. The road was marked with great Potholes, loose gravel and rough surfaces but we made it to Beaver Creek. Still holding to the plan of cruising with max gear of 4th, no...

Day Nineteen Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Day nineteen started out with the ladies donning longjohns and bundling up for a cold ride, which is was. We thought since it was so nice in Wasilla it would continue, but as soon as we got to Palmer the skis clouded over and the temp dropped into the 40s. It even started to rain nothing drastic...

Day Eighteen Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Another rather slow day for number eighteen; but considering that Russ and I had to meet the wives at 1:30 AM at the Alaska International Airport the fact that we did anything is acceptable. After a lot of conversation as to what we had been doing the past 17 days it was off to slumberland. Had...

Day Seventeen Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Left Wasilla after making a few stops to pick up supplies for the wives and gasing up. Arrived in downtown Anchorage around noon and decided it was too nice to sit around the hotel waiting for the wives to show up so after checking in we were on the road again. Back down the Seward highway this...

Day Fifteen Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Woke up this morning and found out my legs didn't work very well, seems that riding that boat for 6 hours worked muscles that my body had long ago forgotten about. Well it was another day of rain today,we must be getting acclimated since all we said as we were putting on the rain gear was "at...

Day Fourteen Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Well when we got underway this morning it was cold and a hint of rain was in the air, in fact the forecast for Seward was for cloudy with showers. The ride down highway 1 was wet roads but things were going great until we passed a sign that said no gas for 85 miles; since I was already at 57...

Day Thirteen Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Day thirteen was a down day while we got our bikes serviced, Russ had to drive several miles(20+) through a major rain storm to get to the Honda dealer while I had to go across the street less than a walkable mile to the Team CC Can-Am dealer. We both had the samething(service and inspection)...

Day Twelve Cheyenne to Alaska an Return

We left the hotel in the sky all decked out for a chilly ride to Anchorage, barely made it ten miles before we discovered tht not only was it chilly but it had started to rain. Road highway 3 turned out to be a nice road with only minimal construction delays and road glitches. Once again the...

Day Eleven Cheyenne WY to Alaska and Return

Day Eleven had us leaving Fairbanks and riding to Denali Natl Park down hiway 3; the 125 miles was very enjoyable and the road condition was great. When we arrived at Denali we rode the 15 miles you're allowed to drive on to the Savage Ranger Station, at that point we were told by the ranger...

Day Ten Cheyenne to Alaska and Return

Day ten was a great day for playing tourist and resting a little; only thing we used the bikes for today was for dinner. This morning we went on the Discovery III river boat tour of the Chena River. The tour of the river started at 8:30 and lasted until about 12:30. We got to see a...

Day Nine Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Day nine started with Dick going into panic mode because he couldn't find his keys and the spare was locked in the rear compartment; but cooler headed Russ prevailed and a search discovered that Dick had placed them in the Camera bag for safe keeping then promptly forgot where he put them. Then...

Day Eight Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Day eight started out on a great note, the temperature was a brisk 49 degrees but the sun was shining and the air was crystal clear. The ride from White Horse to Destruction Bay was once again very beautiful and we had the road to ourselves; coming down the hill towards the bay Lake Kulane was...

Day Seven Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Day seven started in the rain after a short breakfast at Cathys, the rain continued for about 20 minutes but it came down hard: and we had just cleaned up the bikes, shoulda known better. Stopped for gas at Ranchero and talked to a bunch of bikers "snivling" about everything, I guess they...

Day Six Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Started off day six with an excellant breakfast at the Lake View Inn then it was on the road again to our destination Watson Lake. The ride along highway 97 was a great ride with fantastic scenery except for the 50 kilometers of chip-seal road repair, Russ on his wing did not like the loose...

Day Five Cheyenne to Alaska and Return

Left Grand Cache about 8:15 all bundled up with long johns and raingear as it was in the mid 40s and raining when we left. Took "hiway" 40(thanks spyderrock) to Grand Prairie, along the way the rain stopped and the weather turned very nice we didn't hesitate to shed the extra clothing. While in...
