• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hot foot problem

I have a 2013 STL and I can tell you the changes are huge. I also have the floorboards. Yesterday, I was riding in 85 degree ambient temperature with no discomfort whatsoever - even though I was wearing shorts and no socks. When I can ride in 95 degree, or 100 degree ambient temperatures, I will...

    Would you change this tire?

When you have the wheel off to change the tire, ask the dealer to change the wheel bearings and seals too. Bearings are cheap, labor is not.

    Marvelous Engineering

I got a new 2013 Spyder ST Ltd. in early March. This is my fourth Spyder in five years (six model years) - 2008 GS SM5, 2009 GS SM5, 2011 RT SM5, 2013 ST SE5. There is one in each of BRP's three product categories. The ST is my favorite. It is an example of some marvelous engineering combining...

    2013 Trailer Connector

This is a picture of a trailer connector for the Spyder ST. Does anyone know where I could buy one of these? I need a male connector for the cable going to the trailer from the hitch. It is not available at the dealer.

    Lamont BBQ 2013.

What event are we talking about? None of these posts give me a clue as to what event we are talking about. I don't know if it is the owners event or Lamont's BBQ. Help Please.

    15,000 mile service

I agree! I just had the valve clearances inspected on my 2009 GS at 116,600 miles. Only the shims on the two exhaust valves on the rear cylinder needed to be replaced. The other six valves were still in spec. At about 85,000 miles one of the rear exhaust valves needed a shim. Prior to this, the...

    Updated dealers list for Garmin?

Doesn't the RT Limited come with a Garmin 660 that has the dealer list already installed? Do you think one of these owners could donate the list to the rest of us?

    poor fuel milage

Gas mileage can be expected to improve up to about 10,000 miles as the engine loosens up.

    RS rear fender brackts broken

I had mine replaced three or four times under the original warranty. There was never any hesitation about whether or not the repair would be warrantied. If your dealer has not seen this problem, he should sell more Spyders.

    KUHMO Tires

I have been running automobile tires on my Spyders almost from the very beginning. I have had automobile tires changed at three different Spyder dealers and nobody has even mentioned the fact that the tires were not OEM.

    200,000 Miles

During most of this period I had a Ford F150. Now I have a 2012 Ford Sedan. It cost about the same as another RT. I am putting about 1,000 to 1,500 miles per month on the car.

    200,000 Miles

    Passed the 200,000 mile mark yesterday. Here's the numbers (rounded down): 2008 GS SM5 = 36,500 miles. 2009 GS SM5 = 114,700 miles. 2011 RT SM5 = 48,800 miles. Total = 200,000 miles. I passed the 100,000 mile mark on July 6, 2010.

Ovreheated - Went into Limp Mode

My RT cools better than my GS. The RT has larger hardware. Both of my Spyders have fan override switches so I can turn the fan on at will. I do this when I am approaching a situation where I know the fan will be "tested". This has worked out very well even though they are seldom needed. I would...

    Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement

The BRP bearings are made in the USA. BRP switched over in 2009. All models use the same part numbers.

Question about checking the oil level

I recommend you take your new 08 to a dealer and ask them to plug in the BUDS computer to see what updates have been done to the Spyder. Don't take anyone's word for this. There are a couple of updates that are very important for your safety. Make sure you have the latest model power steering...

    experiences at the dealership?

I have the SpyderPops catalytic converter shields and they have not caused any difficulties for me when getting service. Besides, I love it that they actually work.

    Canisterectomy

I don't think there have been any reports on Spyderlovers concerning fires in a RT. The modification BRP made in 2009 seems to be successful. I don't think you have much to worry about with the evaporative canister on your RT. I would look into the gas smell. This is not normal. There are...
