• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Prices starting to shift

as expected. Up here in the Northwest, I see dealer ads on C.L. on new RTS's as follows: a 2014 with $3050 off a 2013 with $5500 off a 2012 with $6200 off probably just select rides so far, but it'll spread as we get closer to the 2015s

    SRA-Puget Sound Mebership meeting

Some Duffer responses then: Why do clubs need funds?: Rides & meets expenses? Like door prizes or the rolling No Host Bar! ;) I dunno. X-Mas party? Raffles? Goodie bags? Trophies? IRS filing fees? I know freebys draw higher participation from my car show days How hard is this IRS stuff...

    SRA-Puget Sound Mebership meeting

2nd post for organizational reasons: So... Q1: Why dues? What does a club such as this need funds for? How does funds usage then get authorized? What are the different SUCCESSFUL methods by which other clubs have raised funds when needed? What are the 'unintended consequences' of requiring...

    SRA-Puget Sound Mebership meeting

Red & WA3: both legitimate concerns that I'm sure should and will be discussed at the next meeting (or the one after that) I hesitate to dump too many concerns on the very first meeting of this fledgling club; adding to the already daunting burden of those WHO HAVE VOLUNTEERED to give their own...

Strong gas smell as Spyder sits in garage even with recall gas cap

running out of wind finally ;) I have very little personal experience with this having only a couple hunderd miles in the seat, but already our new 2013 RTS has fumed me out once. Finishing an hour plus ride, air temp 82F max, half tank of gas, open road on final leg of the ride. I finally hit...

Strong gas smell as Spyder sits in garage even with recall gas cap

Continued: The vapor canister has been around for many, many years. A container filled with charcoal (carbon) bits will adsorb organic vapors.... until it gets 'full'. Obviously soaking the carbon with liquid gasoline is sure death for the carbon, but shoving vapors thru it will overload it...

Strong gas smell as Spyder sits in garage even with recall gas cap

I didn't bother to look up gas-o-hol, but some web reading brings back flashes of H.S. chemistry class. Gasoline is a mixture of compounds. ie: fractions It therefore boils at a 'range' of temps. So unlike, say, water which boils at a single known temp (skipping altitude corrections, etc)...

Thanx for rubbing it in Ann! ;) My memory issues that is :joke: Steed is a new 2013! So 998, not 1330 btw Time to start my wish list. I'll start with S.L. vendors of course but I'm open to suggestions! 1) Header wrap, hi-temp spray adhesive & foil-backed insulation: Looks like Amazon has...

We cruised on in to Fife uneventfully. All told, 12 brave souls. Not sure how many Spyders total but I popped this pic on my way out. Nice folks all. Entertaining banter. Club successfully launched. Next meeting date set for August 16th. Lots and lots of advise on Steed! appreciated advice I...

Strong gas smell as Spyder sits in garage even with recall gas cap

Hey Buzz! I have not yet had this issue with our new 2013 (we have very few miles on her thus far) but it is a pretty common complaint. All stemming from the heat that gets caught up inside the plastic 'tunnel' between your legs :sour: There are lots of really good threads here on how...
