• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

Update: I was contacted by BRP consumer relations and referred them directly to my parents. BRP contacted the dealership directly and gave them some pointers and what I beleive to be a BUDS unit (or some other electronic service device). Now all is well. Thanks to those of you who offered...

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

Update: The headlight is an alignment issue (good call Scotty). They have not been able to get the CB up and working at all. There is some kind of electrical or vacuum switch in the transmission (SM5) that fixed the clutch engagement issue. The belt is aligned now. No update on the rear...

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

We're still waiting for a call from the dealership to see what they find. Scotty; While I did not think about headlight alignment before writing this, when the headlights were turned to high beam, the one blinking headlight didn't blink. It was only on low beam that the one would blink, but I...

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

My parents just took delivery of a 2011 RT-S (well last week). We made an appointment to have the SPyder brougt in this week and along the way discovered the following faults. As I understand it, there is an eye-lid that makes the headlight go between low-beam or high beam. One of the...

Bottom panel potection from boot marks

I don't have big feet, but I find that when I apply the foot brake that my toe will leave sometimes a mark on the lower black body panel. Although I have not seriously looked at it yet, I would like to extend the brake pedal pad just a little. May even as short as 1/2 inch, just so that I can...

    Need CB help

Scotty, thank you for all of your feedback. Yes, my father pointed out that there is a rear passenger head set plug-in point. I guess that means that they did install the Entertainment harness. So, that either means that they didn't plug the CB unit to the radio unit at all, or we got a bad...

    Need CB help

Thank you Thank you for the link, that was very helpful. Just to let others know there is a You-Tube video where a guy has a 3 part video on installing the CB on the RT. It's very step-by-step. If I had to guess, I would say that the dealership did not correctly hook up the lead from the CB...

    Need CB help

Thanks for the input. Can you tell me, is the CB unit under the bodywork on the right side saddlebag? And the radio is just above that is it not? on the right side?

    Need CB help

My parents just rode home a bright red RT-S (even Steveie Wonder could see this colour). The dealership installed the CB, but the CB no worky. You can't even select the CB settings, when you press PTT - nothing happens. I don't have a CB on my RT so I don't know where to look, but the headset...

    Safety Card

HiJack, I'm sorry to post this here but it seemed appropriate. Why is it that sometimes when I start my RT, the digital readout has a deep blue background (like the posted photo) and sometimes it's light grey? Why is it changing?

    Fog Lights

Yes, these are the ones that mount to the fender support. They are not going to be as bright as the Clearwater lights others have talked about, but they sure are plenty bright for me. Also, as I stated before, I have seen the OE Fog lights and I really did not feel that they were the kind of...

    Fog Lights

MowerMan. Will do. I'm waiting on a replacement part and it hasn't arrived yet. So, I will post pictures when I get the job done (looks kinda funky right now with the LED hanging off the end of the wire at the moment). Thank you for the interest.

    Fog Lights

I have a base RT. When I started looking at the extra lighting, I looked at the OE fog lights, but I didn't feel like they were very bright and they are only on / off. I was also looking for DRL's. So, I am installing the Kewl Metal 2-inch LED driving lights (using the OE wiring). These lights...

Did I somehow install my Kewlmetal RT highway brackets wrong?

The shifter goes onto a splined shaft when you reinstall the foot-peg mount. Is it possible to rotate the shifter upwards one tooth in order to get more of a throw on the shifter? If you can't rotate the shifter on the splines perhaps you can adjust the linkage (both of these operations should...

    RT Splash Panel

I beleive that the spash shield is just that, to keep rocks and water from getting up under the Roadster. On a car, this might be a problem, but with the front wheels well outboard of the body, I can't see where it would be in this case. The only thing that I would add is, when I was looking...

Fog lights not working after DPS replacemant

You can take it back to the dealership, but re-connecting the fog lights is super-easy. If you remove the panel that covers the oil tank (as if you were going to check the oil level) you can clearly see the back of the fog light and will be able to tell if the fog light connector is undone. If...

    RT ACCIDENT

First, thank you for making other riders aware that something like this can happen (upper shock bolt failure). However, it seems to me that a pre-ride inspection may not be of much help. If the nut came undone, then you may be able to feel that on a pre-ride inspection. I am wondering whether...

    Miscellaneous Ramblings

    1. I tried the drain plug from "Magnetic drain plugs." I had the mechanic install it when I had the 600 mile service. He said that it was very hard to install (start the threads) since the magnet wants to pull to the metal housing. Oh, I hadn't thought of that. He must have had trouble indeed...

    Oil pressure gauge installation video

Installing the gauge in the dash shouldn't be much of a problem, but have you installed an in-line T for the oil pressure sender? I am not sure where the OEM pressure sender switch is, so I can't help you place that. What part are you needing help with?
