• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Poor dealership wrecks the experience

I posted here before that my parents bought a 2011 RT-S. They had the dealership install the CB system pre-delivery. They CB didn't work so they took it back; that got fixed. Since then her RT-S has been taken back to a dealership three times, but only by trailer. The new dealership (the one...

    RT problem

So, can we say that it's possible that there seems to still be an oil pressure sensor problem even for 2011 models? My parents are going to take their Spyder to the dealer that I use as the one they bought at seems to know nothing (even though they seems to sell a lot of them).

    RT problem

My parents have an almost brand new Red RT-S (2011). They have put about 300 miles on the RT and now suddenly the check engine light has come on and it wont run smoothly now. They have tried everything they can to re-set the computer and it looks like an oil pressure sender fault to me (though...

Spyder RT Limited – My observations

Battery access is not simply the two screws under the seat. In the photo Lamonster posted, you will notice that the long middle side panel has already been removed (one of the battery cover screws secures the upper rear of the long side panel), then you can access the battery cover. So what's...

    brake reservoir leaks?

At 2000 miles, I discovered a small drip right in front of the rear tire. The only thing I could think of was that the rear air bag plastic air hose had broken and that the condensation in the bag might have spit a little water out (rear bag had zero air). Well, after installing the heated...

Spyder RT Limited – My observations

Having been a mechanic, I know that you can get distracted, but something like the battery should have been double checked before the bodywork was put back on. Also, having one grommet pushed in might mean that they were a little rough putting a panel back on, but having so many pushed in is...

    Gap in fairing panels

This might not be the answer that you're looking for, but because the body panels are plastic, the seams cannot be tight like they can on steel bodied car. The seam that you are showing is right around the oil tank and radiator. It's possible that because these parts radiate heat a lot of heat...

Electr. help with heated pass. grip

You were right If I was smart, I just would have measured voltage getting to the grip (to see if there was any). Also, now that you've told me that the passenger grips don't get quite as warm and take a while, I can say that the grips on my Spyder are in fact working. Thank you for describing...

Electr. help with heated pass. grip

I'm not sure about someone having to be on the passenger seat. I did test it this way (with me on the passenger seat gripping the handles) and it seemed to not be working. I know that the 2011 has two LEDs on it, but the 2010 apparently did not. I asked my parents to demonstrate on their 2011...

Electr. help with heated pass. grip

I have a base RT. I recently installed the heated passenger grips on it for my girlfriend. However, after putting everything back together, I realized that the heat doesn't work (should'a not put it all back together). First thing I noticed is that most of the switches on the RT are back lit...

I have not found a handlebar yet for my RT

They have aftermarket risers for the RS, but I would like a little set back for the bars on my RT. No one that I am aware of makes such a thing at the moment, but the bar on the RT is more complex than the RS. It seemed to me at one time I saw a clip from Kewl Metal that they were trying to...

    Buckhorns for the RT?

The Spyder RT is still so (relatively) new that I haven't seen any handlbar replacements for the RT. It seem as though I thought KewlMetal was working on a small riser, or set back that mounts under the handlbar itself, but I haven't seen anything finished or for sale.

Spyder RT-S Handle Bar Control Cluster -- Loose?

I never noticed that the left side could move until I read it here. The rear part of the hand control is only a cover and you should be able to remove it to put something in there (like the tape solution posted previous). However, when I tried to remove the rear part, it was so close to the...

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

More info on the electronic noise. Apparently, there were some complaints that on 2010 model RT's that after shut down, fuel (still under pressure) was dribbling down inside the cylinder. How would you know that? And how long would it do that? Anyway, the whine is some kind of pressure...

    removing the switch panel covers...

I installed the factory fog light switch on my Base model and the blanks are in there pretty hard. It's a big square piece of platic and not just a smooth tooped shallow piece. I don't know how you would get the switch blank off without cracking something (I know I read here some people can do...

Helmet to Helmet Comm. Any ideas?

I have a basic RT. I've ridden for 20 years with no radio, no CB and nobody else. Now I have a girlfriend who likes the Spyder and wants to come with me, but would like to get a communications device to make communication easier. I'm not keep on having a bunch of cables hanging off the side...

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

Thanks to all Okay. Thank you to all of those who replied. As Scotty gave me some info on Power Relay number 1, it could be something having to do with a pressure relief solenoid or the ECM. Whatever it is continues to "think about" stuff for quite a while. I have a 2010 base model and it...

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

The electronic noise runs for about 35 minutes after turning off the key then it will actually stop (my parents just called me). I think that this is unusual, but personally I have lost confidence in the originating dealership. He (service manager) stated that all of the 2011's are doing it...

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

Wierd noise. New porblem Okay, I have a new question. When the Spyder is off, key out, about 15 minutes has gone by, there is a high pitched electronic whine or hum coming out of the Spyder. I do not remember this noise before the CB was connected. I found that if I pull the Main Relay 1 out...
