• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Killin' time waitin' on the 2010 Spyder...

The point is... HD prides itself as the AMERICAN Motorcycle company. BRP has never made a similar Canadian claim about the Spyder.

Just ordered the Toyo Car Tire

Has anyone replaced the front tires with something other than stock...who now has a quieter ride because of that? I have had a persistent hum at about 40-45 mph, and I'm guessing it's the tires. Would like to see if anything might eliminate that; I've already tried different pressures.

    Magic Man does it again!!

I also just installed the Givi lights on my Spyder, with the Industries 7 racks. My Spyder was still stock in the rear lighting area, so I removed the stock turn signals, installed the Givi led plates, and tied them into the optional Triple Play unit (NMN) which I also ordered. What a wonderful...

Finally found a LED bulb for tail light

OK, after I saw your report I went on Amazon last week and ordered a pair (LI-1157RCZ), "only 1 in stock." Put them in this morning, took a 50-mile trip through stop-n-go, and they worked beautifully. This so far is the only LED bulb available with built-in circuitry that will work with the...

    Helmet problem

I noticed the same type of knocking sound... turned out to be the snap on the collar of my jacket hitting the side, lower part of the helmet (full face). I had been keeping it unsnapped. Now, if I snap it up or fold it down into the neck of the jacket I don't get that crazy tapping sound.

Post here if you have over 5000 miles, not kilometers on your Spyder

Just passed 6000 miles (trouble-free miles) on Wednesday. With a long camping trip planned this summer through Eastern Canada, I should be over 10,000 by August.

    New Seat

No, it is actual stingray skin. Tough like leather, flexible, relatively non-slip, but still allows me to move easily across the surface. It is bumpy, and because of this I think will "stick less" than even regular leather in the hot weather. It really glistens in the sunlight!

    New Seat

I just thought I would share some pics of my new seat. I had Kalin Motorcycle Seats of Oakville, CT re-cover my stock seat in black leather with a stingray insert. They also scooped out the seat a bit and put in a section of memory foam. A much better ride now!

    Replacement brake pads

I was told this by the service manager when I spoke with him in the shop. I had ordered the pads about two weeks earlier to make sure they would be there when I brought my Spyder in. (By the way, this is a top-notch dealership; well-informed, honest, and professional; Flamingo in Palmer, MA)

    Replacement brake pads

OK, I just got back from my dealer for my 6000 mile (5650 mile) check-up. I had previously ordered the replacement pads, and had them installed at the same time. Price for pads, front and back, about $115. Labor was about $53. Since my Spyder had less than 6000 miles, I only had to pay labor...

    Trailer Decision

I'm waiting on delivery of a Trailmaster Aspen Sentry in 3 days. Weighs 300 lbs, 25 lb tongue weight, sleeps two, queen-size fold out, lots of storage room in lower part of the trailer. There are a number out there, some pretty expensive, but deals are available. I plan to travel pretty much...

    Cal Sci Windshield question

I recently put a set of risers on, and then the mediuim CalSci I had on was a bit too short; I had the same effect you were getting. However, since I was so pleased with the general flow of air around the CalSci, I ordered the next size up. It's only an inch-and one-half higher but I had an...

    Electrical isolator

Thanks! You know, I will do that. I still intend, however, to use replacement led bulbs; (I will contact NMN.) That should certainly reduce the draw on the secondary trailer circuit. Then, if I get a message I will have to install the isolator.

    Electrical isolator

I'm guessing because your trailer has LED lights. I was told I needed the isolator because the extra electrical draw will cause problems with the Spyder. As it was, I intended to replace my regular trailer brake-taillight bulbs with led bulbs anyways. (If I do, maybe I won't need the isolator...)

    Electrical isolator

Thanks! I looked at a pic of the EC isolator and it looked pretty straightforward, but I wasn't sure. It was a matter of getting one and doing it myself, or having to pay the dealer to install it.
