• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Online DPS Petition...Interest?

http://www.petitiononline.com/ This is a free online petition. Just need some word smithing and a new thread to post it in. I will sign for sure. Luv my spyder, but have every reason to believe that BRP is never gonna recall this DPS. Should have been recalled all ready before someone...

Mirror extension install - What not to do!

Well I called the dealer and got it on order yesterday. One full mirror assembly with light and wiring is running about $167. No fun!

    noob questions

It did pretty good. The only really tough thing was unplowed main streets. You can stradle those tire tracks, but that rear tire has to ride in the middle on the rough stuff.

Mirror extension install - What not to do!

Thanks for the encouragement, much appreciated. So after a few breaths and a cold one I go down to the garage and have a run at the other mirror. Figured I need to know how many I should order! Well the other one comes off smooth as silk with a couple of wiggles on the easy off and a little...

Mirror extension install - What not to do!

Well I got the Kewl Metal mirror extensions last week and the Kurykan ISO grips and I decided today to go ahead and do the install. All started out well, with a little grunting and some elbow grease the grips went right on. Look great! So on to the mirror extensions. I get all the need...

    New Windshield

Same here, with so many positions available I adjust with the shield-on to see what I am dealing with. This setup is great and was a big improvement over the stock. Just getting the wind off of my chest was enough for me during the winter. It can go up higher, but I position it so my eyes...

How old were you when you bought your spyder? what are your thoughts on it?

35 when I picked up my :spyder2: and got back on the road. Had dirt bikes for years growing up and bought a Honda Magna 750 at 18. A year later some douche cut me off and I laid her down at about 60 mph and decided I was done with 2 wheels after that. I used to watch you folks drive by with...

Is SpydersNest a legit vendor or was I just scammed for < $500?

Well I got my call today and though there were a lot of reasons why they did not call me or write me back (e.g. they have issues sending to gmail, there processing system blew my phone number out of my profile, etc.). Tim did seem genuine and was very apologetic and amicable. He sent me...

Is SpydersNest a legit vendor or was I just scammed for < $500?

I just did a search for spydersnest.com here and to my horror i found the following closed thread. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10408&highlight=spydersnest From reports on other sites a sticky would be appropriate. Maybe I could have avoided them. I ordered over 2...

    back tire

Nitto NT 450 was the last tire I bought before going to the Toyo Proxes 4. I had it on my wifes grand prix and all though it had good traction and nice tread pattern the sidewalls had a lot of flex and were scary squishy. People would always flag us at intersections and parking lots to tell us...

    Visor fog

I commute daily in this cold stuff. I have used a couple different products before buying a fogbox for my helmet at $12. Just checking the seal around my nose on the fog box before riding, keeping my mouth vents open, and on rare occasions cracking the visor keeps my visor nice and clear. The...

Gas Mileage - ~19mpg after ECM recall

lol...nice. :roflblack: Well the busted myth just got rebusted! The results are speaking for themselves. If anyone out there is having similar issue would highly recommend this very easy procedure. It made a big difference for me. 11mpg kind of difference.

Gas Mileage - ~19mpg after ECM recall

Thanks......I feel pretty good about it and I avoided the shop visit! Yeah!! Not that I do not like my shop, I just like riding better. By my calculation I hit 30 mpg when all was said and done. Not the greatest out there, but far better than where I started with just a simple...

Gas Mileage - ~19mpg after ECM recall

Well, not sure what thread I picked it up from, but the results are speaking for themselves. I put another 48 miles on it today and I have 4 solid bars left on the fuel gauge. Today was with a high volume of stop and go, as well. At the current rate I estimate I should be able to pull another...

For Tattr and others who ryde in the snow

I have driven in the last two Snow days we had here in Virginia. A few weeks ago when we had the 18" I rode on packed snow to get out of the neighborhood and down to the store. All the neighbors were stuck and immobile. I just left it in 1st and let out the clutch and she crawled all the way out...

Gas Mileage - ~19mpg after ECM recall

I did have some very promising results with the battery disconnect, so far. I am almost reluctant to write this as I may jinx myself. I went for a ride today and gased her up before leaving. I used the 87 octane and surprisingly put 42 miles while only losing the very top two parts of my gas...

    Drastic measures: Voluntary grounding?

I'm with you on that. There is an unfortunate trend here to beat up on the guys that have issues and voice it and there is always a follow on discussion about how this is a place for all to talk about these things. Yet, the cycle still repeats. This behaviour needs to be called out and I will...

    Drastic measures: Voluntary grounding?

Prime example of playing innocent! R u kidding me? You called a guy who had the unfortunate luck of buying a $15k POS death machine a complainer and then told him his bashing of the evil corporation that is actively giving him the shaft was short sighted. These people bash BRP, cause they...

    Drastic measures: Voluntary grounding?

Some people here have been horrified and plagued by relentless issues and near death experiences. I had my share, but seems I am better now and I do feel for those of you out there still. However there are others that seem to truelly enjoy antagonizing the HELL out of those poor folks having...

Gas Mileage - ~19mpg after ECM recall

I'm almost positive the second update is what they did. They had to order the hose as they did not have any in stock. Unless the first update had replacement parts as well. Does anyone know if it was just the second update that had parts with it?
