• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2018 RTL versus 2014 RTL

Thanks for all the advice on the Spyders and back issues. I have continued to ride the TriGlide but it is not comfortable, may need a chiropractor, due to seating angle(?) and stiff ride. We took delivery today, delivered to us 200 miles from closest dealer, on a couple 2018 RTLs. My wife has...

    2018 RTL versus 2014 RTL

Looking at F3 as well When i set on the RT i feel like my feet are too far back so i am looking at the F3 as well. The '18 Spyder comfort seat and foot boards sound like they may be a better fit. I may be able to test drive one when the spasms stop and i try riding my wifes '14 for a little...

    2018 RTL versus 2014 RTL

Ride the wife's Spyder? I do test rides following maintence. If i tell her i need to ride it for a longer test drive she asked what to look for and to follow her on the Harley. I think that will give you the picture. I was laid up a couple days ago due to muscle spasms and couldn't get around...

    2018 RTL versus 2014 RTL

Thanks trikermutha i read a lot of your posts here and on HDForum. When I decided to make this post, as I have been inactive here for a while, I was hoping to hear from you and if you still liked the transition. I love the TRI but have had a few back issues because of the ride. Didn't bother...

    2018 RTL versus 2014 RTL

Thinking of upgrading my Harley Triglide to Spyder RT. My wife rides a 2014 RT Limited and loves it. The Harley is kind of rough on my back due to suspension stiffness. I found that my 20 year old thinking and my 67 year old body can get me in trouble. Between the stiff ride on the Triglide and...

    The couple that sweats together...

Sweatin' Together 12,000 miles ago my wife wasn't either, but once she sat on the front seat...... Got her Spyder and motorcycle license at 70 years old. She puts that helmet on and she loses 20 years in appearance and demeanor. I agree, get her one as well. =bob=

Heated gear info you need to know.

Coax as power cable? This setup uses coax cable for power distribution? As in TV cable or wave guide stuff?

    Need help!

When I did mine, I removed the emergency brake cable and pulled the emergency brake lever as far forward as possible and screwed the piston in without any clamps. Not sure if pulling the lever released the brake fluid but after close to three hours messing with it, it was sure nice to get it to...

2010 RT gone into limp home mode,

Spy10, did you get a resolution for this?

2010 RT gone into limp home mode,

Key Walk? I've wondered about that. There is no power in the key, no battery to change, so it cannot be a transmitter unless it is activated by a signal. I figure the key has an RFID coil in it that is activated by the 'radio' signal from the DESS through the antenna in the ignition. This...

    Thank you BRP for.....

I took a little trip around Colorado earlier this summer on my Harley Tri-Glide. 41 mpg avg which included Red Mountain, Coal Bank, Molas, Wolf Creek, Vail and Loveland (via the tunnel) Passes. I haven't monitored our fuel mileage but my wife's Spyder and my Tri-Glide usually get the same amount...

How do i (really my Hubby) change the rear tire on 2014 RT

Couple things I was working on the 2014 Spyder RT today and found a couple things not mentioned about removing the rear wheel. What is best practice for dealing with the parking brake alarm while removing the rear wheel. I ended up removing the cable end and then ‘setting’ the park brake...

    Harley Reverse Trike!

I bet my helmet would fit in there and let the door close. Wait a minute, I ride a HD trike and I can put my helmet in and close the door. Won't fit in wife's Spyder though. =bob=

Bob D and his 59262 post count. Looks like insurance business is slow. 59,262 posts since Sep 2010 comes out to 32.47 posts over 1826 days. Another DESS Error problem - AGAIN!!!

Should a spare module be purchased? I'm a little concerned about my wife getting stranded someplace. Is it possible to get a spare module and install it if the problems were to show up? Do the keys need to be reprogrammed or will replacing the module fix it? Although it sounds like this is a...

    Ugly DESS Error

I would bet BRP mechanics have a way to start the roadsters if they run into this issue. There is probably some combination of switches that will allow an override but it hasn't been released. If the key is present and inserted, a standard code should be available to all. Maybe they will debut...

    Ugly DESS Error

My Tri-Glide has a user definable code I can enter if I don't have the FOB on me or if it failed. I would like to see that on the Spyder so my wife would have a better chance of not getting stranded if hers failed. =bob=
