• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Creep? SE5

creeping is abnormal i disagree, the se5 is not an automatic transmission with a torque converter, it is an electronically shifted manual transmission. the centrifugal clutch is to fully decouple so that the engine can idle at stops with the transmission in gear or the neutral to 1st or reverse...

    Bearing loose in rear hub

right side bearing, rear wheel don't peen or lock right side bearing, rear wheel. it is designed to float in the hub until inner race lands on the inner spacing tube when the wheel center bolt is tightened. if hub is damaged by seized bearing, replace it.

    BRP Comfort Seat

brp comfort seat vs original the "bucket" design makes for much better feedback during riding. only drawback is the stiching allowing water to soak in somewhat. anybody know of any sealer that may be used to prevent that?

squeal noise when cold under load

thanks for the links. my sprocket looks like the one on the pics. on first link. the retaining bolt had no locktite but was hard to remove due to rust. no damage to output shaft splines or bolt. deep wear on washer. agree the torque on this bolt should be checked regularly. it's on my schedule...

squeal noise when cold under load

all spyder owners, please inspect your front drive belt sprocket tightness. the retaining bolt on mine backed off enough to damage the sprocket ( thank goodness the sprocket is softer than the transmission main shaft. no damage to shaft) symtoms: squealing from belt when cold, red dust on...

    Creep? SE5

if you ride a 08 se5 you may have the early spring, we had the creep and a problem with the gear position sensor early on and when it was replaced, they told us a spring was replaced to eliminate the creep. also recommend you change the oil to the latest brp xps formula. i suspect that the se5...

SE5 Downshifting to 1st is rough

did you have the update to the update done? much improvement in the overall drivetrain operation. also suggest the use of the new full synthetic xp-s oil by brp. finally, if you manually downshift into first from higher speed the blipper will engage even when 2 to 1 shift resulting in smoother...

    Purge Valve - Permanent Fix

filter in vent line strongly recommend to use an inline fuel filter at the end of vent line, remember that air must enter line as gas level drops in tank or as temperature drops and fuel contracts. spiders and other insects love empty pipes and may nest plugging the vent. fuel pumps are strong...

    Canisterectomy

recommend against. if the evap system on the spyder is anything like automotive systems, when the engine control module controls the purge solenoid, it is expecting a richer report from the o2 sensor. not noting one it will eventually flag a code and check engine light. is the smell there only...

    Exhaust gasket - vertical.....

rough running with exhaust leak i've noticed that the exhaust leak at vertical joint coincided with rough running at stop/go and backfires on decellerations. suspect that fresh air/oxigen is entering exhaust pipe before the o2 sensor and skewing the engine management mixture control. i'll let...

    Adjusting brake pedal?

brake pedal adjust. don't do it. adjusting the height of the brake pedal changes the relationship between the brake switch mounted in the cammed arm and the brake pressure sensor. the abs/dynamic stability module double checks the travel of pedal with internal pressure sensor and if not within...
