• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Recall done first impressions after stop & go traffic

Yes the frame under the seat did not get hot at all. I only rode 50 miles of combined stop and go, and freeway riding at 96 degrees ambient, but the frame was not hot. I also have insulation on my tank , around the glove box, and covering the frame hole under the seat so no hot air can get in...

    Ready to cry...Spyder fire

There was a recall on the brake tandem master cylinder for the 2013 RT"s in the summer of 2014 to add a metal heat shield and heat reflective material to protect this part from excessive heat. I believe one of the RT fires was due to the part melting and catching fire. When I bought my 2013 RTs...

Very nice a 70 MPH on freeway no hot air coming through cowling or seat and it was 104-106 on dash air temp gage. Got home check the cap and not hot at all. Dipped the fuel tank with a ragged an...

    2013 RT Recall First Impression

Just got my wife's RT from shop this afternoon; wow! what a difference in cowling temp around the seat and glove box and upper cowling I would say there's about a 80% or more drop in hot air coming from around these areas. It was 95 degrees ambient when I pick it up and the air temp gauge on the...

    2013 RT Recall Work Done!

I wonder if the hot air on your right foot could be caused by wind coming out of the West? I know side wind seems to do that on my wife's 2013 RTs Spyder. Just a thought. from your comments, the recall seems to working well. Time will tell.

Unable to read oil dip stick

I made a homemade dip stick with 1 1/2 inch diameter plastic cap, then cut a slit in it so I could slide a Popsicle stick thru it that is the same length as the stem on the factory dip stick. Then I marked the Popsicle stick with add and full marks like the factory dip stick. I warm up the...

2013 RT Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment - Safety Campaign

[ Rob, i think you are right. The mods the recall include do not have anything to do with the Cat bypass or heat wrapped headers. Fuel system mods may be a little different. Not everyone is going to be happy regardless and that's their right to feel that way. For me, I am going to make my wife's...

2013 RT Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment - Safety Campaign

I think think you are right, this recall mod should reduce the heat even farther. I am thinking about mounting a fan somewhere in the engine compartment that I can turn on manually to pull heat out at low speed or in stop and go traffic. Any thoughts on this and on where to mount the fan?

2013 RT Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment - Safety Campaign

I have cat cat bypass and thermal wrapped headers, I do not plan to let my dealer remove the wrap or re-install the cat converter. These two mods have helped allot with the heat issue under and around seat and glove box. My only concern is the re-map of the fuel system impacting these mods. My...

2013 RT Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment - Safety Campaign

Hot Right Foot Bob is correct, I have owned many motorcycles and at slow speed or stop and go traffic the ones I have owned got pretty darn warm under the seat. I had a 2003 Harley that burned my inner thigh pretty bad while I was in traffic at Sturgis. My 2011 Honda ST1300 would cook you above...

Amazing how mad this makes Harley riders

Really! Does it really matter what motorcycle you ride? I own a Harley, Spyder RT, St1300, and have owned a Victory Cross Country. I love the Spyder but love the others too. I just like to ride.
