• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Givi saddlebags

T443 You mean the inserts for the RS/RSS hard bags? They are called Givi T443 Bags, they are sold through Revzilla and TwistedThrottle.com in the US.

    Glasses and anti-fog issues

Fogged up. There is merit to people saying that coatings can prevent the anti-fog solution from working. First, many of the anti-fog solutions dry onto the surface as a residue which is hydrophobic or prevents moisture from building on top of it. If the outer coating on that surface is...

    A great dealership experience.

So, normally my experiences are kind of ho-hum with dealers or downright frustrating but this place has been awesomely helpful. The dealership I am talking about is All Out Cycles, located in Chesapeake, VA. First the place is co-owned by David Hansin and his brother (who's name escapes me)...

Firstgear Cold Weather - Themo Suit Sale!

Psh. Only wimps need thermal suits. I wear socks, underoos and a helmet in any weather over freezing. .... just kidding, I own one of these, it's ridiculously warm in 30 degree weather (cold as it gets here)

    Gas Milage with the RS

uhh yep. Sounds right. I just calculated mine at 27.956 mpg average over the last 2200 miles and I don't drive like a psycho but I have a little fun on straight-away's every now and again. I am on a 2011 RSS with a Hindle, hard bags and passenger backrest if that counts for anything.

    First Time !

Weather? As a year round rider I can tell you that the spyder is fine in just about anything but icy conditions. I have done 60+ in the rain without so much as a hiccup (there is a reason why the front tires have low psi, EXTREME TRACTION!) I have ridden in gusts up to 60 mph, while its...

little lessons learned along the way...

Newish I am a newish rider too and here is a big detail I learned the hard way. Keep your foot off the brake, if you ride it by accident you will get the check engine light. (I used to flash the brake when downshifting to alert others to my slowing on my old bike, I am now sure that I am all...

    RSS Shenanigans.

So, I picked up my 2011 RSS Orange/Black on saturday and have been enjoying it immensely. I have a few questions for those that have an RS/RSS. 1. Do you find that your high beam is lighting up the treetops? I am wondering if maybe my headlight AIM is off. 2. This is my shift pattern, I...

    Why wait?

True Story. I am 22, owned a sports bike and a cruiser and now an RSS and like it by far the most. Age has nothing to do with it ;)

wow Disbelief wow did'nt see that coming

it appears. It appears she has been "bitten" by the spyder ;) I have been riding for 5 years and my girlfriend wants to start riding now that she's taken trips on the back, but because she is the skiddish type, I am taking the motorcycle newbie course with her next month, will be an easy fun...

yep Obviously, this would be moderated and knowingly biased or affiliate linked product links would hopefully be removed.

    An Idea for the forum.

As I was digging through the various boards, I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have a third party item user review section. This section would be dedicated to reviews of various accessories or other "things" used with or on the spyder. Think that 303 Aerospace Protectant is the...

    Cold/Rough weather riding tips.

So winter is just around the corner, and where I am (Norfolk, Virginia) is starting to see the weather dip into the 50s now. I am an all year no nonsense rider. Cold, rain, fog, whatever, I ride. The only exception being iced roads as I am ballsy, not suicidal. I feel that it would be...

Need prayers for my son Nathan

Prayers abound It truly is awful that so many riders face injury or worse at the hands of inattentive or even uncaring cage drivers, I sincerely hope that everything is alright and he recovers quickly. It is good that he is conscious and talking, and I hope he was wearing proper gear. It only...

    New Battery

bzzzz I would say give it a shot, and invest in a small set of motorcycle jumper cables to carry with you just in case. And remember, even though an alternator can recharge a battery the charge rate is very high and usually causes a "top charge" meaning proper voltage but not charged to...

    600-mi service - advice?

    600-mi service - advice?

A few tips I have done quite a few long trips on bikes and I usually carry the same few things. A toolkit that is well enough stocked to let you fix minor issues, such as getting to battery leads, checking fuses (bring a few spares as well) and a small container of each essential fluid as...
